LT had an appointment with the vet yesterday, as it's been a week since he came home. She said she was very impressed with his recovery and gave permission to let him out of his room.  The first thing he did was go to my room and smell everything, my cat Sam was not impressed. Then he ran down stairs, then back upstairs very easily.  Mom and I were discussing if he would be able to jump up in the recliners with us and as we were talking he jumped up in her lap and made himself very cozy!

We are overjoyed with how well he has done in his recovery and are excited for this new reality.  Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions.

Wow,  I missed all of this! Sounds like LT is recovering really well!

The incision looks decent,  but the  lower part.. is it the  photo or is the area a little irritated?

One week is very early for him to be racing around and jumping up on things.  If he hurts the incision or area of surgery it could cause a significant setback.  Are his sutures dissolvable or do they need removal?

You might want to consider continuing his recovery in your spare room until he's healed.  That will also give your other kitty a chance to get used to him being in the house.  Huckleberry played footsies under the door with my other 2 kitties before i let them interact with each other.

Im not a vet,  but Huck had several setbacks while healing and it was very stressful because he was feral when his leg got broken.

Sounds like his appetite is back too?? Peeing and pooping ok?

He's absolutely adorable!! I'm glad things are going your way ❤

Hugs,

Jackie, Bo, Andy, Oscar, Phoebe, and the coolest feral tripawd kitty Huckleberry

Grinning ear to ear over here at how happy LT is to be out of "prison"!!  Being able to reclaim his areas and doing some of his routines again is so good for the mental part of his recovery.

And as Jackie said, make sure he doesn't  overdo too soon though..

Thrilled to hear how well he's doing.  Thanks for the update.

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

LT and Sam are figuring things out, they hiss at each other then sniff each other.  Sam is jealous that LT is getting better food and a lot of attention.  I think they just need some time. Until he was injured LT was outside most of the time and when he was in they got along pretty well, but full time sharing the house is new for them both.

Ohh so they're relatively new roommates. It's a good sign that the hissing turns to sniffing and nothing more.

Time to spoil Sam too!
