OfflineIt looks like McGwire is one of the many recently who have been cursed with spinal mets and who is in need of a body sling now. More to follow later. (Brent and I are out of town now, but his parents are watching the dogs and Mac hasn't done well with the big snow. I haven't seen him since he has stopped eating, but I'm guessing that the in-laws are right, it's not good. It sounds like a lot of what I read about dogs who have had spinal mets.) I'm dying not being near him now, but if anyone has a sling, I'd greatly appreciate it. McGwire is a front amp. and we have a ruffwear traditional harness, but that doesn't help his rear slipping right now. Thanks!

OfflineI'm sorry to hear about McGwire… I really hope that it's not spine mets… You are all in my thoughts and prayers…

P.S.
In the meantime, Brent's parents could try using a big towel or one of those reusable grocery bags cut open… That should help until you get a real sling…
That sucks!!! (Sorry no other way to put it, it just plain out sucks). Even more that you are out of town. Koda's back legs started going all funny last week but we have been to the vet and it is joint problems. One of his back legs was giving out a little bit, but his appetite was still good. My first thought was spinal mets and I did a lot of praying! I hope you are headed back home soon!!! And hope it is not spinal mets! McGuire is in our prayers!!!!

OfflineI don't have a sling I can offer you, but I can send good thoughts and prayers your way. I'm sorry you are having to go through this, and it must be even harder with you being away from McGwire.

OfflineAmy we are saddened to hear this. Have you gotten an official diagnosis? Sometimes symptoms can mean something totally different. We hope this is temporary.
Not sure if you've seen it yet, but here's a new harness called the Help 'Em Up which has a rear-leg support system that might work for McGwire if you don't find one that works for you both.
Please keep us posted in a new topic OK? We are cheering MacGwire on from here.
