And being a "monitor" also means you get to be attached to the leashes of all the "OUTTA' CONTROL TRIPAWDS"!!

I have a feeling this is going to be a WILD AND CRAZY week-end like we have neer seen before!!

Jasper is going to be really, really busy as the fun police!

I loooove that picture! 🙂

I hereby officially volunteer for "monitoring"! I am currently functioning with a deficiency of dog kisses, even if I do tend to accost any dog and owner I meet.

I was serious about the chili - I will certainly bring some but equally certainly NOT for the dogs as they have no palate for such things!

Sally, thanks for the hotel names, hugely helpful. I will post with arrival times (or better to PM?) and will plan on booking a hotel room with at least two beds - happy for company and cost sharing for whomever.

What happens in Virginia, stays in Virginia?

Right rear leg amp 7/12/16 due to OSA. Metastatic lesion on her right front leg, January 2017. Joined the Winter Warriors January 19, 2017. Run free my sweet girl.

There should be plenty of room for pens, the area around the pavilion is pretty big. I'll be bringing one for my guys.

Sally, do we have a "Frankie" handler yet? 😉

It's official! JL and her madre are headed to DC and the White House (okay ... not really). We officially booked our plane tickets (I know I was making people nervous but I'm a bargain shopper and we finally found a great priced ticket AND non-stop). DCA (aka Ronald Reagan Airport) here we come!

For my international carpoolers... we're arriving at 4:33 pm so as it gets closer, we can coordinate meet-up times/places. I'm hoping to NOT check a bag but with Jasper's needs and my needs ... I'll probably need a bag.

YAY! Can't wait!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

😳 why is it that Frankie needs an extra handler?? Ah, nevermind. Since apparently Jasper is already taken 😊 I volunteer.

And see, I learn something new every day, English is so versatile: I have now learned that to monitor means to cuddle while being tied up with leashes 😂

( I kind of see myself tied to a gatepost by tripawds with jasper on my arms barking)

Alison: just give us airline and times and I'm sure we'll get there somehow. If you want me to rent the car that's fine, too!

oooh, the excitement!!

Guardian of Manni the Wonderdog. -Or is it the other way 'round?

Manni was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Dec '15 and immediately had his right front leg amputated, followed by 5 rounds of chemo. Manni's real name is Manfred and he turns 10 on Jan 28 2017. So far we are mets-free...

Haha, yes if anyone is feeling lonely without their pupper my roommate and I will have extras lol. I'm bringing my crazy tripawd boy Domino, and his new little sister Tonks, and my roommate is bringing her dogs Ziggy and Riot. The two puppies are border collies and will need any attention anyone is willing to give lol. It's the most dogs I've ever taken on a road trip, so it'll be interesting for sure! I can't wait!! If anyone needs a pen, we do have a small ex pen that we used for the puppies when they were smaller. It's not huge, but it would be enough for a small dog, I think its 28" tall. So if anyone would like to borrow it let me know and we can bring it along so you don't have to buy a new one. We also plan on bringing soft sided crate to the park with us for puppy time outs for the girls. So excited that plans are coming together!

Domino had his left front leg amputate on May 13th 2014 after being hit by a car. He's now living a happy healthy life on three legs :)

CASSIE! You vet the award for MOST DOGS at a Tripawd Pawty!!! I do recall though, that your pups were very well behaved! So excited to see all the new puls you are bringing, as well as sweet Domino againheart

Tina (aka victim)...you are now the Official Frankie Wrangler..er...Handler! His nose controls him.....his non stop vocalizing....his unbelievable strength pulling you...his non stop vocalizing (oh, did I mention that already?)....yes, you will need to CHAIN yourself to a gatepost with Frankie chained fo you!

Apparently Karma's Maggie and Frankie and Jasper Lily will be having quite a few "sing-offs"! And I don't mean to be voastful, or discouraging to any other entrants. but Frankie will will win!

And OMD Elizbeth...you said TINY????? HA! Haven't seen "tiny" for years!! Too funny! You have "tiny"'confused with old!! 🙂

oooh, the excitement!!

I actually already rented the car (or reserved it) so we're all set there! We got a jeep which should be plenty of space for all of us (and little barky  - aka Jasper).

Speaking of vocalizing... Jasper has been barking ALL day. And I do mean ALL day. We are on Spring break and I would like some silence so I took her to the dog park thinking she needed to run off her energy ... more barking. Even people there commented on her lack of 'quiet'. Someone said she's quite the cheeky one, isn't she which I don't think is a compliment!

So y'all consider yourself warned ... And Jasper has issues w/too many puppies or too much chaos, so like Jack, I suspect she will be spending most of her time in "timeout" ... aka her carrier or someone's lap!

And is that a real vulture? I've never seen one before so that is way cool! As long as it stays in the tree! oh-my

'Speak for yourself!' I think is the only possible response to that. Or refusing to 'hear' the criticism, 'I know, she's such a character..' etc. etc. Trust me, I've tried them all. There was a man I used to see in the park who was always dispensing training 'advice'. I'm like, 'If I wanted a robot, I'd buy one from Amazon, thanks very much for your help.' Except, of course, I didn't say that, or only in my head....

I like it when dogs 'express themselves'. I'm delighted to hear that Jasper's chatty and look forward to hearing all about her glamorous life in LA.

Plus, I am VERY excited I get to go in a jeep, on top of everything else. Roll on, May...

We call Jack "personality plus". I grew up with very submissive, eager-to-please golden retrievers and was totally out of my depth when I Jack came along. She evaluates everything by considering "what's in it for me?" and if we ask her to do something thinks is unnecessary...she won't do it. And she loves knowing the rules, mostly so she can break them. Her favorite game is to be bad and parade around doing exactly what we've asked her not to.

I had no idea what to do with her in the beginning, but now I love the fact that she puts herself first. It's a great challenge to find ways to motivate her and engage her in training.

Okie-dokie! I'm all booked, arrive in Richmond at 2:46 pm on the 26th and I have a reservation at the Hampton Inn on Research Road - two beds so if anyone wants to share it's available.

In other news, see what we've come to? Brazen little critters! Gator needs to come visit and put him in his place!
