Daisy and I live in Columbia, MO.  Looking for tripawds that would be interested in gettin' together.  I know Charley's Mom is in St. Louis and Bosco's mom is in Kansas City.  Are there any others?

Daisy was diagnosed w/destroyed left elbow joint, became a Tripawd 12-9-11 Her pack is her human Marla, American Eskimo dog Matti, and cat Maybelle.

Yay!  That's four of us.  We'll need to figure out where and when.  We have 2 in KC, one in St. Louis and one in Columbia.

I am talking to local vets trying to find more tripawds here in KC.  I am leaving info and trying to get them on this site also.  So, if everything works out, maybe we will be able to have a big Tripawd Pawty!

Wish us luck.

While Columbia probably makes sense as a midpoint for an big I-70 Pawty, if in the meantime people in the KC area are interested in a more impromptu get-together, Bosco and I have been to the Wayside Waifs off-leash park twice now and he's had a blast there. (It costs $3 a visit, but it's well-maintained and supports the shelter, so I'm okay with that.)

I'm pretty sure I'll keep taking him regularly, sometime during the weekend. The last two times, we've gone Sunday afternoon, which seems to work well with my schedule. When I'm going there, should I give a heads-up here or through PM if anyone is interested in joining us?

Does anybody have a date suggestion?  Also, did we want to try and do it in Columbia?  That's the mid-point since we have members in KC (Bosco & Boomer) and St. Louis (Charley).  I assume we will try to schedule it on a weekend.  I'm pretty open to anytime/anywhere.  If we do it in Columbia the best dog park is:  http://www.goco…../index.php

Let me know what everyone thinks.

Hope we can make this happen!

I have been thinking the same thing, now the it is starting to get nice out we should get this pawty going!    Columbia is a nice mid point and only 2.5 hours away from me?  I am actually trying really hard to get some awareness here in the KC area to increase member numbers.  (The more the better tail waggin' good time.)

Teresa, our last kid was adopten from Wayside Waifs.  I love those people, they are so wonderful with the animals and the shelter is so clean and friendly.  We haven't been to the Bark Park yet but if it is taken care of anything like the shelter it has to be wonderful.

We need to all get a place and date set.  I know Wyatt Ray Dawg and family might be driving through sometime in the fall, it would be great if we could set it around that time so he could join us.  Just an idea, or maybe we could have another one during that time.

Thoughts…

We are pretty open (except a few weekends when we have St. Louis Cardinals tics).

My hubby Joe and I would need to drive to Columbia with Charley, so it would have to be on a weekend….Charley thinks he is a lap dog and would rather be in my lap than in the backseat. :)

I'm not familiar with Columbia except for the Faurot Field.  Joe is a bit more familiar than me since he went to Law School there.

It would be great to meet up with Wyatt Dawg and family too!

Hugs and chocolate labby kisses,

Ellen and Charley

I am not familiar with Columbia either and agree it should be on a weekend.  Boomer is also a lap dog but he does put up with sitting in the back seat if we make him do so.  Just so you know how much of a lap dog he is, when we brought him home after his diagnosis for amputation he was in my lap for the full 40+ miles.  I could hardly walk when we got home because of no circulation left in my legs.  If anyone is interested in the Bark Park in the Kansas City area here is the link…
