Hi all. Clyde has been doing really well, no coughing or shortness of breath. Just continuing to be the happy boy that I love. I've noticed over the past few days that he's a little less animated, and a little more sleepy. Chalked it up to weather changes or whatever. But he's also been eating a lot of grass.
Fast forward to tonight. He only ate a little bit of dinner (very out of the ordinary) and then started vomiting. First couple were of water and grass. The last two were a brownish thicker substance with a foul odor. He's sleeping now but I'm freaking out. I will call my vet first thing in the morning, but has anyone had anything like this happen that ended up being related to the osteosarcoma? I hate seeing him feel so sick. 
Has Clyde been going to the bathroom ok? Is he pooping ok? I have seen animals get so bound up that they have vomited the poop. Hopefully this is not the case, but you should check to make sure he is pooping. Sorry if that sounds gross but it is the first thing I thought of when you described it.

It coukd be sooooo many reasons for the uoset tummy that have nothing to do with anything "serious". Glad you're fonna get him checked out to eliminate anh blockage, junk in his tummy, pancreatitis, etc.
You knkw we are all sending good energy to sweet Clyde. We'll be watchw for your update....without vomit!! 🙂

Awww poor Clyde! I hope you got some answers today.
My first thought is that this likely isn't related to the osteosarcoma, probably just a simple GI issue that he tried to clear up by eating lots of grass. I hope so. Keep us posted.

Clyde has been throwing up all day - not constantly, but several times. So off to the vet we went. He doesn't think its related to the osteosarcoma, and is running blood tests. May be pancreatitis or hepatitis. He didn't have a fever and the vet didn't feel any masses. I should get the test results tomorrow. They gave him some Cerenia - and he promptly barfed on the way home.
They also gave me some for home - main concern right now is that he can't keep down water.
Poor guy. I hate seeing him like this.
I know this is distressing to see your Clyde not feeling well. Being nauseous is such a rotten feeling.
Wish the Vet had given him an anti-nauseous injection instead of the pill.
Once the GI tract gets whacky, it can take a few days to turn things around. If it's pancreatitis, the Vet can take proper action for that roo. Hopefully the bloodwork will help identify the issue and get him the priper treatment.
If he does continue to throw up, I'm sure the Vet will give him fluids if need be.
Yeah, this journey always makes ya' thing horrible stuff. Most of the time though, a lump is just a lump and a tummy zche is just a tummy ache, so try not to worry. This will get sorted out!!

Ohhhh poor Clyde, I'm sorry he feels so lousy. How worrisome but at least your vet has a good plan. Not keeping down water is tough but I'm hoping the Cerenia kicked in enough so that by now he is able to drink up so he doesn't dehydrate? Let us know OK? We are holding you close in our hearts right now and hoping for good news.

Poor baby. So his belly felt ok to the doctor and he didn't feel bound up? Have you seen him move his bowels? If the oral med doesn't cut it, they can give him a shot for nausea so that he doesn't throw it up, and they can give him sub-Q fluids or IV fluids to keep him going until it passes.
Did they tell you what to do food and water wise after he stops throwing up? You can boil up chicken or ground beef and long white rice. Start by giving him just a tiny amount of water. If he holds it down, give him a little more in an hour. No more than 1/8 cup at a time. If he continues to hold it down, try just a tablespoon of the ground beef and rice at a time every hour or so. Once they have held that for a few hours I would try like 1/4 to 1/2 cup (I don't know how big he is, large breed?) and then wait a couple of hours. Baby steps to not get his belly out of whack again. As he gets better start mixing his food with what you have made and gradually wean him back to his regular diet.
I sure hope he gets better soon, my thoughts are with you.

Thanks everyone. Clyde did get an injection of Cerenia yesterday and I have pills to start giving him today. He didn't vomit overnight, but he's so very lethargic. Got him out to go potty, and could barely get him to come back in. He had like two licks of water and completely refuses any sort of food. Not gonna lie, I'm super worried. My vet has surgery day today, but I'm going to call when they open and see if they'll take him in for observation. He actually seems to feel worse today even though he's not vomiting.
Oh good on the injection, my oversight, thought it was by mouth. I'm sorry he's feeling so badly. I hope he turns around quickly!!

Just wanted to add our cat is on Cerenia right now oral not an injection and it is a side effect lethargy. He is sleepy and dopey on it. Of course still, call your vet with your concerns. If you can get bone broth in him, that would help with hydration. We buy it online I don't know if you would have it in your local store. Our cats lap it up I am sure the dog would! Just a thought.

Its a good news bad news update. The very, very good news is that the vet did x-rays and they are completely clean. Nothing in the lungs, nothing anywhere else but some arthritis in the back. The not so good news is that we still don't know what is going on with him.
I had to go to work and left him in the yard - he just wouldn't come in and I thought he might be happier out there. Had my neighbors check him once and he was okay. I got home about 1:30 and poor guy was hiding under a bush. He'd drooled so much that he had a huge chunk of mud on his face and mouth. He could barely walk so I carried him inside, cleaned him up and off to the vet. He's hospitalized for the night, and maybe through the weekend depending. The hope is that with some fluids and additional injectable anti nausea he will bounce back pretty quickly. I forgot to ask about the blood test results - vet may not have had a chance to look at them yet.
So, cautiously optimistic. Vet is worried just because this came on so fast with no real explanation.
It IS good news that the xrays, etc are all clear!!!! GREAT NEWS! :-):-)
Alrighty then, we are going to all be optimistic and hope his overnight stay with fluids, etc gets him baxk on track. I guess the bloodwork woukd rule out (or in) pancreatitis? Is poison of some sort even a remote possibility? This is so perplexing. I hope the "intervention" at the Vet will turn things around.
I know there are no "free passes",'but it just seems like tripawds should be exempt from any additional health problems!
Okay, sweet Clyde is in good hands tonight. Try and get some rest and update us in the morning. Surely the fluids will help!
