Love ya too Spirit Lalla!  My mom shared with me all of the good wishes, love, prayers and encouragement that everyone has been sending to us.  She's pretty overwhelmed about it and I think it's really cool too.  I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Not sure what happened with Spirit Jerry last week but mom says that we were blessed with his presence.  I definitely was feeling pretty trippy so anything's possible but nonetheless... thanks Spirit Jerry for taking care of me when momma couldn't.

I'm doing pretty good.  It's been a week since my surgery and I'm walking like a real tripawd now.  Mom still hovers over me with the towel under my belly but lets me pee and poop on my own without her (a guy needs his space sometimes).  I have fallen on the floor a few times but I'm okay.  My mom put that skid resistant stuff down but sometimes I walk on the other part of the floor... I guess I like to live on the edge!  Mom says that she ordered me a red harness that will help me.  We can't wait to get it but mom says I can't wear it until my staples are removed.

My wound is still draining... especially when I get up and move around and when mom helps me with the towel.  The doc says that I can lick my wound... I'm so glad because I've seen those funny looking collars and I'm not into wearing that stuff!  Mom mentioned that Zeus (you're pretty cute too by the way... I'm comfortable enough in my masculinity to say that) panted a lot when he was on his pain meds.  I'm doing the same thing... especially the first few hours after I take them but then I calm down a little bit and then I sleep hard for a little while.  With the panting, I also seemed to get a little restless during the same time... can't quite get comfortable... I go from dog bed to dog bed... my mom puts a lot of beds all over the dining room and living room for me.

As far as eating, mom is still giving me a lot of chicken (gotta love her) with my dry food and vitamins.  The doc gave me vitamin K for my blood clotting issue and I only have one more that I'll take tomorrow.  Mom said that Radar (another cute lookin dude) suggested I eat brocolli and other green leafies for vitamin K.  I never was a big fan... any ideas about what mom can do to make it taste better to me?  Maybe some chicken broth?  Mmm... I like chicken, can you tell?

Mom sends her love to you all.  We've been praying a lot together.  It seems to really help us through the tough times that's for sure.  We're so very thankful to be a part of your family and to have the opportunity to just-as Spirit Jerry said, "keep on keepin on"...

YEAH JAKE!!! It so great to hear a nice update. Titan panted alot when he was at home. I felt so bad for the guy. He ended up having a seroma and a drain. I think once that pressure was off he was much better. It has been 2.5 months and he is doing FANTASTIC. I bet Jake will too heck sounds like he already is. Just remember you may have to do babysteps to get there but he will fully recover. I am so glad the scare was over. It is so hard isn't it. I know Titan is my child so it was heart wrenching when he was in pain. They are amazing though aren't they. Kisses and high fives to Jake

Ooooh, brocoli just bugged me, but Mom got me to eat it by finely chopping it along with my other veggies (food processor is handy), and mixing it into some smelly wet Evo canned meat. I always ate it that way. My Health Tips page shows how I ate this stuff.

Yep, those veggies sure are good for you!

Glad to hear things are looking up buddy, I knew you could do it! Before you know it, a couple of weeks will pass by, and you'll work the meds out of your system, which will help reduce your restlessness. After that, you'll be hopping about the neighborhood, for sure!

Good luck.

Hey Jake - you're sound good there pal...We are so happy that you're making good progress...the panting will stop once you're off the meds and the staples/stitches are out. You'll be amazed at how wonderful you feel after that!

As for the green veggies - i loved them chopped and mixed into my food like Jerry said. I would watch the chicken broth - it's very high in sodium (even the low sodium kind) and it made me drink a ton more water than usual. If you like your food soft and all mixed in...warm water works too (but i hear ya about the chicken thing...I love it too!)

Keep on keeping on and keep us posted.

Big smooch from Mom and high paw fives from me!
