Hi Everyone! I haven't been super active on here for a while, though I have been checking in occasionally on the forums. I wanted to give any interested readers a pupdate on Aspen! About 3 months ago Apen got a hitch in his giddy-up so we decided to meet with a physical therapist and that has been a HUGE help. (Here's the blog post about his initial consultation - Thanks, Tripwads.com!) We did cold laser therapy for about a month after his initial consult, in addition to massage and exercise and he's gotten so much stronger.

We just got back from his 5th physical therapy appointment and we don't need to go back for 3 months! He's had all restrictions lifted, but we will continue with his at-home stretching and exercises forever. He now weighs 69 lbs! He was about 82lbs pre-amp, and it was about ~5lbs of leg and bone they took out, so he's been on quite a diet to keep him trim and to reduce stress on his joints. He is, as always, a wonderful patient and I literally had to drag him out of the vets office this morning. He's not on any sort of drugs besides the CBD/THCa tinctures we've been giving him (yay Colorado!). Also of note: we were originally given a 3-4 month life expectancy for the big guy (we decided against chemo), but we're well into 7 months now with no signs of slowing down.

Here are some photos from today:

Thanks so much, Sally! No steaks for Aspen today, but he has enjoyed EXTRA pets and love today and maybe we'll even have a frosty paws after dinner! 🙂

This is the tincture that we give Aspen.

He currently weighs 69 lbs and he gets .75ml 2x a day. Although, according to their dosing instructions, we could do more....

I've heard people are using Canna Pet (which can be shipped to anywhere) with good reports, as well.

And while I'm at it... Some more pictures of our boy.
