I know I'm behind, but thought I'd do a quick update on where we are with Trouble.

Her biopsy results came back with the cancer totally contained in the site of the tumor.  Without metastisis, the vet recommended we continue with chemo. She had her first chemo Friday a week ago.  We were very fortunate, and she recovered quickly.  You could tell she wasn't feeling well, slept a lot and no tail wags.  About midnight she had a little tummy upset.  I gave her anti-nausea meds and she was back to sleep.  About 6AM she vomited about a tablespoon full, got another round of anti-nausea meds and went back to sleep. By 10AM she was wagging her tail and ready to get up and around.  I am more than pleased her reaction to the chemo was so slight.  It makes it much easier to decide to continue the treatment.

She had her first CBC this past Friday and her white count is right where they want it.  We couln't be more pleased.

Her amputation incision is almost completely healed and she is getting around as if she always had three legs. We couldn't be more thrilled at the progress to this point.

Hi Trouble - glad to hear that you're doing well pal...it's amazing how quickly we adjust to three legs eh? Let us know how chemo #2 goes...I didn't have much of a reaction to chemo either except for a little infection with round 2 and 3 which they treated with anti-biotics and I was fine.

Hugs from Mom..licks and wags from me!

Love, Zeus

Good for Trouble!  Tazzie just finished her last dose of chemo last week (fifth dose of carboplatin) and we are so happy about that. She always gets a little lethargic and less playful and eats less for about 7 days after chemo then she gradually picks up and is back to herself by 3 weeks. Now that she is done we hope she can play more and interact more with the other dogs.
