Our Golden Molly has had a rough week.  It started that she would cough at night and vomit bile only, no food.  Breathing is labored and seems to take everything she has to just breathe.  I took her in Sunday night and they gave us anti-inflammatory to use for 3 days.  No improvements and now this morning (5/29) she didn't want to go outside nor eat....so not our Molly to not want to eat.

Taking her back in at 4:15pm today for a re-check.....needless to say I'm anxious and am afraid of the news we will hear...

Glad you have a vet appt. so you can get things figured out and get the proper treatment. We all understand being anxious and worried on this journey, but it may be someting that can be taken care of with pain meds...maybe someting going on in her tummy...maybe even some weird allergies.....just throwing things out there. I know its hard not to think the worse. But unless you know otherwise, this could just be a bump in the road. To focus on anything else keeps you from focusing on being fully present with Molly.

I'm assuming the previous appt. the vet listened to her chest and did xrqays?: If not, insist. If there is fluid, sometimes that can be drained and .ake the dogs feel so much better. Heck, I'd even see if they can work you in sooner so you can get this breathing issue addressed and get her feeling better.

You're doing everything you can.....right now, just being present with her is the best medicine for both of you.

The whole Tripawd Community is sending positive healing energy to sweet Molly. We will be looking for an update when you can.

Sending lots of love

I don't have any words of wisdom, but I think I know what you must be feeling. Try not to worry until it is time to worry. And in the meantime, show Molly you love her and will take care of her no matter what. It's all any of us can do.

Active 10+ Pyr mix suddenly came up lame with ACL tear in left rear leg. Scheduled for a TPLO but final pre-op x-rays indicated a small suspicious area, possibly OSA, which could have caused the ACL tear. Surgeon opened the knee for TPLO but found soft bone. Biopsy came back positive for OSA. Became a Tripawd 9/18/14. Carbo6 with Cerenia and Fluids. Pain free and living in the moment. Crossed the Bridge on 7/12/15 after probable spread of cancer to her cervical spine. A whole lifetime of memories squeezed into 10 months. Here's her story: Eloise

I'm crossing my fingers for you.... hoping for the best...

Is she having problems lying on any particular side?  I recommend that you get a chest xray done... and it will rule it out.. or confirm...

I'm hoping it rules it out.  Of course we think the worst.. we can't help it when we have read so many stories, and there are many of us here who are saying.. oh oh....    but.. that doesn't mean it's the end!!!  There are many things that you can do and still have quality time loving her up and being loved...  but you won't know what to do until you know what you are ealing with.  Could be an infection, could be allergies.. could be...... anything....

Let us know what happens at the vets..   hugs for all

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012.  Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.  Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack...   You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!

Ended up taking her in sooner....didn't receive good news.

Molly's chest cavity is full of fluid and they think they saw a mass in her lungs but can't tell for sure because of the fluid build up.  They are trying to drain via needle (not sure of the term) and they are also giving her a diuretic via IV to help her body hopefully absorb the fluid.  We are hoping to at least ease her breathing so we can make a better determination.

Definitely not the news I wanted to hear however; I'm glad I decided to take her in sooner rather than wait.  I have been realistic during this time since her amputation and I know what the statistics say about Golden's and cancer....just never easy to hear it and see our dog struggle to breathe.

Prayers appreciated!

So sorry for this update with not-so-good news, we understand the harsh reality and how difficult this situation is. I am hoping sweet Molly can get some significant breathing relief soon, and be back home with you feeling much better.

I also understand the "statistics of cancer" for our beloved pups.....I have, and always had Labs, and so far have lost 3 straight to the "ugly c", so I absolutely get it. But we still try to push aside these statistics to enjoy the life we have with them. Even when they get a diagnosis, we just love them as much as possible, and make each day count.

We are all here for you, and definitely sending thoughts and prayers your way...
