Cricket pictures

Hi all cricket just had front leg amp on friday, been doing good ; eating & potty normal now on tramidol and gabapentin. I was rubbing her belly tonight and noticed red colored bruse that has a soft lump where the color is. This was not there earlier today so i called the emergency vet thats is attached to the sergeon and she said since cricket is acting fine and not reacting to the touch just to call in the morning if i want to see her surgeon or take her to her norma vet.

I will call in the morning and try to get in with the surgeon but had anyone else experianced this? New at posting pictures so here is a link i started with her images. You will see the pic with my hand the lump is the size between my fingers .
Hope all this makes sense 😢

Hi,

I don't see a pic but I will say that I experienced something similar when MySweetTed had his amputation.  Honestly I think there are things related to such a large surgery that are deeper inside the site that seem to rise to the surface after a couple of days....hopefully that makes sense.  I was a little freaked out when he had his surgery because I brought him home the same day and there were changes that were good and bad for about 4-5 days - and then I started to relax a bit, and so did he.  I hope all goes well with you and your sweet cricket.

CUTENESS ALERT!! 🙂   SMOOOOCHING CRICKET!!!  SMOOOCHING THAT SWEET ADORABLE MUG! 🙂 :-

Agree with Wanda, there are so many sifferent ways to get lumps and bumps when recovering.   Just have the Vet check it out.  It'll probably disappear as quickly as it appeared

Hugs

Ditto x3! It's probably just an edema or swelling caused by all that pesky leftover bodily fluid. But let your vet know to put your mind at ease.

I am totally in love with Cricket!

Hey Cricket & Mom 🌺🐾

Just a quick word, love Cricket’s pictures he has the most beautiful smile, doesn’t he?

Let us know what the vet said, but like everybody I would guess it’s nothing to worry about.

Sending you a big hug and tons of cuddles 😘😘😘🐮💫✨🌟🌹

Maybe she got a little bug bite? At first I thought maybe a surgical clamp but it looks a little low on her body for that. Oh she is such a sweet pup ❤️❤️

I do agree it's probably nothing. Just keep an eye on it, make sure it doesn't get bigger, even if you need to take a marker and put 4 dots around the outside of the mark so you can keep an eye that it's not getting worse.

She is a heart melter!!!

That is great news smiley It is what I mentioned in my last post, but hard to see exactly where it is in comparison to her surgical site because each picture shows a partial area. When we prepped for surgery, we place a sterile cloth over the area of surgery to create a sterile "area" so to speak. The cloth has a slit like hole in the middle of it, which goes over the area that is operated on, and we placed clamps in 4 corners like a square, clamping the cloth to the skin so that it would not move and allow any bacteria to soil the area. Those clamps are a bit sharp and they make little pinches on the skin, kind of like if you were to put a clothespin on your arm, or anywhere for that fact. That was the first thing that popped into my mind because it can leave a bit of a bruise. But a sterile area is mandatory to perform surgery so that they don't get infected afterwards. Once the doc makes the incision there is no turning back so it is vital to keep that area as sterile as possible. That's why a lot of people go shave crazy with some animals, lol. They want to keep it all as sterile as they possibly can.

I am glad it is not hurting her, and I am really glad you called your doc to check on it!

Glad to be able to help. I am not a tech anymore, but I had one day a week (we took turns) that all we did were the surgical procedures. It took forever to master it, and it is quite the process to get them all prepped and ready for the doctor. Hope you guys have a nice relaxed evening that is totally uneventful heart
