Hi Tripawd Family!

It's been awhile since I've posted for Shadow.   I can't believe its been almost 5 months since our diagnosis… time sure flew by!  What a journey this has been, and there's no way we could have gotten through this without the support of our friends here at Tripawd.com.

I'm happy to report that Shadow continues to do well.  We started him on chemotherapy in February, we participated in a newer protocol treatment – Gemzar and Carboplatin.  He finished his last round of chemo 3 weeks ago, and went through treatment with minimal side effects  (some slight nausea the evening following chemo, but otherwise no other severe side effects).  In celebration of finishing chemo, we took a roadtrip up to northern Cali and stayed up in the Russian River for a couple days.  Boy did he have a great time playing fetch in the river and running around in the green, lush lawn of our cabin.

Just came back today from the oncologist for his check-up and xrays.  X-rays are clear!  W00t W00t!!    6 months ago, when we got the diagnosis at the vet, never could I have imagined that life would ever return to normal for us.  But as I type this update today, I can honestly say that Shadow and I are still enjoying a great quality life everyday.  We had to make some adjustments (car ramp, shorter walks, sleeping downstairs, and supplements galore)…but otherwise everything is status quo!  He's still the happy, silly, funny dog we all love. We are going to keep doing what we've been doing, and continue to count our blessings for everyday we have together.

Tripawds Rock!!

Thanks Shana and Trouble!  You guys have been great through it all.  Hoping many many more ampusversary months for all our Tripawds out there.

Jim,  time does really fly when your having fun, no matter how many legs we have. LOL.  We are still on the quest for the perfect RV so we can take more weekend outings.

Shadow just finished a little photoshoot outside for his new “Dog Leggs” for amputees vest.  It's a cool vest with a padded sleeve that provides extra cushion for when they plop down.  We got ours directly from Dogg Leggs http://www.dogleggs.com. All amputee vests are custom made for each Tripawd.

Let us know how the Dog Leggs vest works for you, we've heard such great things about it.

Tripod Dog Jerry Swims Russian River CABy the way, my first try at swimming right after my amputation was in the Russian River! My pawrents had no idea I would be able to swim with only three legs. Boy, did I show them!

So hoppy to hear from you guys, thanks for the update.

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™
