Omg I just saw a tripawd cow at TUFTS.  Eurydice did you come all the way here to get a peek at Otis? Astro is going to get jealous!  Lol

So Otis is getting chest X-rays today. Wish they had warned me and I would not have come alone.    Now I don't want anyone to come tell me any results.

Power keeps going off. Major wind storm here.   They are operating fully on generators now.

Otis - 121 lbs pre amp - 114 lbs post amp and now 118 lb Great Dane - English Mastiff X.  Started limping on 12/24/16.  Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 12/28/16 - amputation of front left leg on 1/6/17.  Stitches out and 1st round of Chemo on 1/19/17.   2nd round of Carboplatin on 2/10/17 - 3rd round on 3/2/2017.  4th round was scheduled for 3/22/17 - however due to low WBC postponed - 4th Chemo completed on 3/28/17.  Had breathing difficulties, stayed in Tufts ICU overnight.  Due for 2 more rounds of Chemo but we are opting to go with homeopathy with Dr. Loops instead.

Wow that's a crazy storm! Be safe going home OK? We'll thinking of you and keeping our paws and tails crossed for good news.

Did you get any pictures of the Tripawd cow?

Thank you.  No pic of the cow yet. The tech was bringing her down the hall, said oh your daddy isn't here yet and took her back.  I'm waiting to see if she comes back out so I can get a pic!

No other sighting of the cow. Maybe they slipped out the back door.

Xrays are clear, CBC is great. They are waiting for some test results from urine and then if all is well Chemo time.

XRAYS ARE CLEAR.

Omg I was so scared when the 4 year student walked up to me with the Vet.  The 4 year student was the one who kept coming up to me to keep me updated.  So when I saw another person with her, I was like oh no!

The cow's name is Murphy and I forget his owner's name.  She said she found this site when looking at making decisions due to osteosarcoma.

I told her she should come post more.  He's been a tripawd since Sept.

i have a pic of him I will post later.

Heading home now.

Here he is.  Mom said he is 9, has bad knees and has been a Tripawd since September. Clear chest X-ray also.  However when they xrayed for lungs - they found he had a heart issue so he's on meds for that.  He was lucky enough to get in a clinical trial at TUFTS also!  I hope she comes around to share he story so we can all follow along.

YAY FOR CLEAR X-RAYS!! And YAY for cow dogs!! and YAY that it wasn't Ms E (because Astro knows that he and Eurydice share a special goofball bond and that she wouldn't DARE come to the states without visiting us, too). and YAY FOR CLEAR X-RAYS!! Otis, you big, handsome boy, keep on kicking butt and taking names!! Good job recruiting Murphy for the Hooligan Great Danes Club!

and (did I say?) YAY FOR CLEAR X-RAYS!!!!

Hugs from your brother from another,

YAAAAY !!!

YEEEHAA 🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠

Clear X-rays Otis, that's m'a men 👌🏽🤜🏽🤛🏽👍🏽

Gosh, me and Mom have been so busy with the travel log we didn't realise you spotted me 🔭👀🐮 for a second ⏱

And Astro, I am planning to visit you next 🚀 thing is even if I have been practising take offs and landings a lot 🛫🛬 I still need to master the endurance required to fly such a long way ✈️ between Europe and the States ✈️

I love Murphy, we're growing such a lovely Dane family here ✊🏽🏹💗

Sending you boys (and your Moms) a big slobbery kiss 👅👅👅👅💋💋🐮💗

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)

Otis goes to Chemo #4 first thing in the morning.

he was a bit off this morning.  On the way to PT He never sat up - even when I opened a window for him. Usually he has his head out the window.

Hubby and I were at work and that alone can sometimes cause him to be a whiner.  However our daughter texted me and said he whined all day.

Tonight he seems fine.

Awww Otis. Sorry to hear you were a bit "off" today.

Is it possible he tweaked something...maybe a sore back or neck? Do you think the PT made whatever was vothering him any worse? Maybe he needs to just take it really easy for a couple of days.

The Onco will give him a good once over before they proceed, so that's reassuring. Glad he seems to feel good tonight! Good news!!

Lots of hugs to that sweet boy!!

No chemo for the big guy today.  A 6+ hour adventure to find out his white blood cell count was 2,500 and that is the cutoff for Chemo.  Trying again on Tuesday and likely going to every 4 weeks instead of every 3.

Ahhhhh....bummer!!! That could be why Otis was a little "off". Such a loooong day for Otis AND you! Hope you went through a drive-thru for a big fat cheeseburger!

For whatever it's worth, there is aa theory out there that says a low WBC means the chemo is working!

Many dogs here, including my Happy Hannah, were on a protocol of just four Carboplatin anyway.

Give that sweet pup an extra smooch for us!

Hugs!
