I found a new pea-sized very hard lump on Charlie's back left inner "ankle" last night.  I feel like the worry should all be over!  Charlie just got back to himself and I feel like he has been through enough!  I don't want to even make an appt. to get to the vet.  It seems like it is brand new.  It wasn't there 3 days ago.  We had been wrapping that foot up until then because the pads on that foot were raw.  We recently got his new boots and the velcro band does tighten over that area.  Maybe a hair follicle thing?

It does not feel like his sarcoma felt in any way.  It is very small and movable…right under the skin.  We are really trying not to worry.  I can talk myself out of it for…..about an hour!

I know the only way to be sure is to do an aspirate but, geesh!!!!!!!!!  I just want him to relax and be happy!

I just read through Cadence's new bump and was relieved to read the good news at the end.  I can totally relate to the roller coaster of feelings and the lump described sounds similar.  We may wait until next week to have it looked at…maybe Monday?!?  We think it may be a good idea to see if it gets bigger or goes down.  Do these keratinized something somethings grow or dissipate?

I'll make the appt. tomorrow…  :(

From the way you describe it it sure sounds like nothing – sounds kinda like that kira-whatever-thingy Cadence had… Gotta agree – it is scary to go to the vet and have it checked out cuz sometimes you just want to be blissfully ignorant, but you'll probably just keep worrying if you don't get it checked. Knoweldge (however you spell it…) is indeed power.

If you get the Power of Team Tripawds working on sending pawsitive thoughts out that it's nothing, it will most likely be nothing!

Thanks all!  Charlie has an appointment for an aspiration 12/26…hopefully we'll know what it is by the end of next week!  Keep your paws crossed for Charlie!  I'll keep you updated!

Sammy has a chart for all the lumps that have been popping up.  There are many now, but before the cancer there was only one.  Everytime I find a new one, I get that scared feeling.  ALL of them have turned out A-Okay, so I would have to say based on experience that one sounds like it won't be anything to fret over.

The keratinized lumps that Tosca has have gradually gotten larger, and at some point, we'll probably have them removed. The vet said when they get to be over about 2 cms then we'd probably want to have them taken off.

I also have a chart of all Rio's many lumps and bumps — she's got warts, lipomas, a melanoma and some lumpy scar tissue (in addition to the MCTs) that are all mapped out, because when the vet would feel a lump, she would always ask if that was one we'd tested before and I could never remember because there were soooo many. Now, though, we're not doing any additional treatment on her, and its the first time in YEARS when I find a new lump and just go "oh well, there's another one."
