Hi! my name is Mary, and  I have a Beautiful Chocolate Lab Named Lily who is 8 years old and A Total Sweetheart...Everything she has been through in her 8 years.with Severe Allergies, Bleeding Ulcer, Back Up By Trailer Ended Up with Compressed Fracture in Spine and almost Dying Twice on Me do to her Severe Allergies and 6 weeks ago she was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in left rear leg and 5 weeks ago this Wednesday her leg was amputated..and doing very well I Might Add..  Dave and I decided not to do chemo or radiation ..I liked our vet but she was not up on other alternative Holistic or other Cancer Treatments..I asked her if she could recommend Any Oncologist or Holistic Vet? There Just Going To Tell You To Do Chemo or Radiation...So she didn't recommend anybody

So I Started Doing Research ...I found Tripawds which is amazing with information ..Dr. Dressler Cancer Survival Guide and Cancer Diet ebook ..and path with paws with Lena McCollough...Were Very Informative and Learned a great deal..I finally found a Holistic Vet and Oncologist ( you don't want to know the first 2 so called holistic vets Lily and I've seen the past couple of weeks..let's just say I wanted to punch them in the nose and I cried all the way home) this vet I asked a lot of questions over the phone before I made appointment because it's a 2 1/2 hour drive..Dave and I went yesterday..She loved my notebook of notes and what I've Been doing for Lily since she was diagnosed( She didn't make me feel crazy)...Home Cooked Food High Protein Low Carb Meal...K-9 Immunity Trio, Vitamin C, Turmeric Complex, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, Calcium, Digestive Enzymes( Artemisinin 3 hours after meals 11 days on 3 days off)

My question is She recommend Neoplasene and Xiao Chai Hu Tang, K-9 Immunity (mushroom therapy) Glycoflex Stage 3 for joints Only ..she said I didn't need any other supplements I was giving her..

Would I be hurting her if I give Fish Oil, Turmeric And Calcium? And do you or anybody mix everything together or keep Neoplasene and Mushroom Therapy separate? ..the vet said it didn't matter..but I've been reading on Neoplasene to keep separate from supplements?

I like to know what other members are doing with there Furbabies? Thank You For Any Information!

Mary

Hi Mary,

I'm so glad you found a good vet that you can work with. It makes all the difference in the world to have someone you trust and see eye-to-eye with. Yay!

I'm curious why the vet recommended neoplasene for osteosarcoma. I thought it was only used for certain existing tumors. If her leg is already amputated, how will the neoplasene be applied/given? We've had interesting feedback on neoplasene treatment for dogs with cancer. Some against, some for, it's a gamble like anything else it seems.

Honestly a holistic vet is the one to ask about the fish oil, turmeric and calcium supplements since they are probably more familiar with any neoplasene interactions. Perhaps you can ask your new vet to contact one who knows a bit more about interactions this treatment she's recommending?

Hi Jerry!

She found a Small lung met in the corner of her lung..she didn't have anything in her lungs 6 weeks ago😔 I give it orally I mix it in her food..she said the tumor would shrink or keep it the same size or try to keep it from spreading.. I think I'll call her today..I was so overwhelmed yesterday ..with all the information..I was just happy that I found someone who listened and didn't think I was crazy..

You are most definitely not crazy. Call her and have a list of questions ready, so you can feel better about everything. Let us know what she says OK?

Clearly Lily is a strong and determined fighter, and that's a real.plus!   And she has a Mom who is a strong advocate and an excellent researcher for her Lily.

I don't have much insight into the specific questions you have.  As Jerry said, your Holistic Vet, or regular Vet, may be your best resource.   All of the supplements you are describing have certainly been used by manynhere.  Now, as far as how theyshould, or should not, be used with Neoplasene, I have no clue.

I'm reallu, really glad you have a good connection with the Holistic Vet you are going to now.  That's so important!

It's wonderful to hear how well Lily is doing!   She's quite a SUPER STAR! 🙂   Can't wait to see some pics of her!

Hi Mary and Lily, good to hear she is doing well after surgery, she sounds like a fighter, with a good support team.

We used a product called Immuno Boost and Cell Care they are herbal supplements they did contain some mushroom extracts. A separate mushroom compound was talked about in the beginning but we stabilized so we did not peruse that. we also used CBD a ,cannabinoid { 20 mg 3x daily}, after we Ok'd it through our oncologist, two holistic vets, as well as our family vet. all three had no ill effects other than we ran out a few times... we also found a local source of low dose CBD dog treats. they loved them. thats awesome you found Artemisinin as well we used it with positive results. with so many different medications we were going through pill pockets like mad.

I'd love to hear more on what you have found about the mushroom supplement.

Hi Everyone!

Happy Sunday Morning😀   I did call the vet about the mushroom therapy..since I give her Neoplasene twice a day in her food, Lily gets 2 cups home cooked food Morning and Night..she told me to give her 1 1/2 cup in morning and evening of her food with Neoplasene and at night before bed or at least 4 hours after a meal give her the rest of her food with mushroom therapy and supplements ..I've been splitting it up ..I know you are not supposed to give her anything between meals because she might not take her Neoplasene (it's smells and they told me it's bitter) but she is my happy eater she eats anything..so far🙏🏻  Lily thinks she is getting more food during the day..🥓🍕🍔🌮😀
