Hi friends!

We are 3 days now post amputation w/ Sadie and man has she improved SOOO much!!

Shes getting a ton of rest, but still getting up (on her own now!) to go potty and lay out in the grass.

She seems to have some swelling and bruising that wasn't there and also drainage is probably more today than it's been. Still normal looking and no pus or stinkiness. But what I found odd...she's draining on the outside of tube rather than inside the tube. Is this normal? She is supposed to get it removed tomorrow...so we will be seeing the vet.

We had one fall earlier but it didn't seem to bother her nearly as much as it bothered me. She's so strong and I couldn't be prouder of my girl!!

Sending hugs to to all the tripawds and their owners!!

Hi Lauren and Sadie!

So glad you're doing well 😉 Don't worry about that fluid, that drain is just to keep it open while it's draining so the skin doesn't seal and trap that fluid where it could get infected.

Good luck today, I hope your visit goes well ❤️

Sadie's Avatar is absolutely adorable, she's a beautiful girl!

Sounds like she's doing wonderful, good luck with your recheck visit 😎

Hi!! Thanks for checking in. Sadie got her drain removed today & doc said everything looks good!

I can can tell she's getting cabin fever so we may go on a car ride. She loves being outside but it's 107* here in Phoenix and it's too warm for a furless baby (yep...Sadie is a furless Labrador..she lost most of it 5 years ago. She's allergic to everything on the planet).

Thanks again for stopping by. You're so appreciated!!

That's great news, I'm so glad she glided through it 👏👏👏

You guys are rocking this, I'm so happy for you 🌺🌺🌺

Thanks for checking in, does my heart good to see things moving along smoothly.

Maybe an air conditioned car ride is just what she needs, change of scenery. I would add ice cream if she's not allergic to it 🍦🍦🍦

Hugs, keep up the good work                                 🌞🎉🎈💖🌺

Thanks all!!

Today we got to cruise around for a while & get some whipped cream from Starbucks! 😎

Tomorrow is my last full day off with her, and I'm nervous for Wednesday. She will be alone about 5-6 hours. We got her a corral/kennel where she will have enough room to get up and move around..we have tile all over the house and unfortauntely she can't be left alone on that. Any tips for this nervous mama?

Thanks again all, today was another good day

All the love, Sadie & lauren

Sounds like you have it covered 🙂  Have you gotten any throw rugs for your tile for Sadie to have traction ? I ended up getting a bunch from Big Lots and a couple off of Amazon and they have made a great difference for him. She will definitely need some traction so that she doesn't pull muscles on her remaining good legs.

Other than that unless she is super opposed, I think she will be ok. Today is Tuesday, maybe you could kennel her for just a test and go out for 30 minutes to see how she reacts to her kennel?

Hugs,

Jackie and Huckheart

PS, I bet there are a few people along with me that would just love to see some pictures of your girl winker

Hi!! Yes we are about to do a quick Starbucks run and leave her in her kennel! We had a bunch of scrap pieces of carpets and rugs we got. So she has the whole living room to move around in without slipping!

Let me try to figure out how to up load pictures..
