Had a collar change back to the bigger one because someone is being irritated by their stitches, no harm done as far as we can see but one of the areas along the scar is a lot cleaner than it was! As soon as it stops itching he will be back in the comfy collar again because it's so much better. We do take the collar off though when we are near him as he is very good and leaves it alone when told to and it gives him some relief from having to carry it around

Otherwise day 5 starts with a trot outside for a pee and a snack of rabbit poo, a waggy tail, happy face and a cuddle - all good and getting used to balancing on three legs and remembering which 'leg' to cock

So glad everything is going well thus far 🙂 Love all the pics, what a pretty boy!

Looking good Jack!  So glad everything is going well.  Your tail will grow back,,,,eventually!  lol  It took Murphy awhile to get his hair all the way grown back in, but oh well.

Todays update

Vet check for the wound - all very good and really pleased with how it is going on

Nothing from the lab about what they have found except it isn't a bacterial infection - won't get anything more until next week at least

and here is a video from yesterday - can you spot him?

Lookin' good! Bet he's happy to be out in the field running around again.

Active 10+ Pyr mix suddenly came up lame with ACL tear in left rear leg. Scheduled for a TPLO but final pre-op x-rays indicated a small suspicious area, possibly OSA, which could have caused the ACL tear. Surgeon opened the knee for TPLO but found soft bone. Biopsy came back positive for OSA. Became a Tripawd 9/18/14. Carbo6 with Cerenia and Fluids. Pain free and living in the moment. Crossed the Bridge on 7/12/15 after probable spread of cancer to her cervical spine. A whole lifetime of memories squeezed into 10 months. Here's her story: Eloise

Is there no stopping this boy?

Today we had a run round the field, tail wagging sniffing hunting etc etc

he is really adapting so well and is starting to cope with going slowly rather than trotting everywhere

Soft toy destruction happens all the time, some mornings one of them has to go out into the garden with him, just in case one of the others eyes it up.

the wound looks fab, stitches are coming out on Friday, bruising has mostly disappeared

All in all we feel really happy for him that he is out of pain and back to really enjoying his life

Way to go Jack.

Storm's onco vet said to let him set his own pace of recovery and he has been so much happier since we let him choose the route and pace of his walk, it's great to see them enjoying life isn't it.

OMD . . . he's doing so well!!! Only here do we love seeing our Tripawds poop and piddle! LOL!

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

I agree with everyone here, Jack is amazing and so glad he is doing so well, it is such a relief when they feel so much better and back to their usual, happy selves....... Love the videos as well, he is a gorgeous pup for sure!

Please keep us updated on his lab results, sometimes that seems to take forever.....

So which dog is overdoing it? - you guessed it, he really doesn't seem to be taking it easy

Stitches out tomorrow and I will check that they are happy for him to have a massage on Monday just to relieve those overused muscles in his remaining leg which yesterday looked as if they were having a bit of a spasm

I have also discovered that he quite likes you to scratch the side he no longer can, not something you immediately think of but obviously quite necessary

AND - which makes me laugh when I shouldn't - he can do two legged pees! 'cos sometimes he forgets that he hasn't got a right leg!

We are so pleased with his recovery to date, I know that things can go horribly wrong but he is living every day with a cheerful look and wants to be involved in whatever the others are doing

I love that he has mastered the art of the two legged pee! We need video of that trick!!clap Not able to see the video of him in the garden doggone it!

And yeah, scratching all up and down the side they no longer can is so important.
