Well, I opened my big mouth and now I can't find it. But it's easy to reproduce. I just have to wait for her to go to sleep!

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/

I feel for Evelyn.  I can't imagine the confusion they must feel.  I appreciate this thread as well.  I worry SO much about this when it comes to Lola when it is Butchey's time.  <Sigh>.  Lola is the second dog and has always been with Butch, worshiped him in fact.  A pain in his arse, with the nudgy behavior similar to how you describe Evelyn's.  But she will be lost, just like Evelyn.

The only piece of advice I would have is stick to a routine - a new routine.  This is the only thing I have up my sleeve when our new normal hits.

Give her a belly rub for me.

Butchey Hudson Dx with HSA (knee joint) 5/19/2011.  Amp on 6/14/2011.  26 glorious months of ampuversaries.  Earned his wings 9/9/2013.  Forever curled up in my heart.
