Yeah, but "let's grab a low fat yogurt and then jump on the treadmill from a brisk walk" just doesn't sound as good!

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Oh, that just sounds dreadful . . .way-confused

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

On the subject of stress, I am a bit worried about Tess.  She was favoring the bad knee, and had a hard time getting into bed last night.  Seems a bit better this morning, so we took a short walk.  We had the tightrope surgery, which can fail for some dogs (but so long after the surgery???).  Part of this is guilt - her rehab got interrupted when I injured myself last fall, and then again for Otis.  She has her normal check-up coming up, so I will keep an eye on her.  Might also be Otis' fault - when they play he tends to go for her back legs.  I saw them doing it last night.  I would hate to think that I am spending so much time observing Otis, and I miss something serious with Tess.  Who is right now sound asleep at the foot of the bed.

Try not to panic or feel guilty, you are a fabulous mom to both of them and you're obviously very observant no matter what's going on. Wait until the checkup comes around and just take it easy, I'll bet she'll be fine by then. Try to think of it like this: how many times have we ourselves gotten sore after doing something strenuous, but it only lasted a little while and went away. Probably the same thing for Tess.

Yep! Ditto Jerry! These two couldn't ask for a more attentive Mom!

Miss Tess may need to rest up for a week or two and take it easy, maybe even taking an aanti-inflammatory. You've got ato good handle on thi gs. Try not to worry, okay?

Hugs!

Hey there Tessheart

Eurydice here also thinks you should wait for your check up as it is probably just too much playing with gorgeous Otis !

Don't get Mom too worried and thinking she is not paying enough attention to you, all our MOMS spend their time thinking about us and spoiling us rotten which is so, so lovely heart

Plus WE deserve the attention as we are all so cute !

Sending you lots of slobber, woof woof woof xx

Eurydice 77kg/170lb Great Dane limping end of April 2016, amputation (right front leg/osteosarcoma) 4 May 2016 6 courses of carboplatin followed by metronomic therapy, lung mets found 30 Nov 2016. 3 courses of doxorubicin, PET scan 26 Jan 2017 showed more mets so stopped chemo. Holistic route April 2017. Lung X-ray 5 May 2017 showed several tennis ball size mets, started cortisone and diuretics. Miss Cow earned her XXL silver wings 12 June 2017, 13 months and 1 week after amputation and 6 1/2 months after lung mets, she was the goofiest dawg ever and is now happily flying from cloud to cloud woof woofing away :-)
