Has anyone here used Dr. Loops and had a great experience with him?  Now that I can no longer put Otis through anymore Chemo - I would like to try something natural to help keep the lung mets away or at least prolong the length of time before they appear on xray and then become an issue.

His website has some great testimonials - however I would like to hear stories from actual owners who used him and how long their dogs/cats lived after beginning to use him.  Whether they already saw lung mets on xray or not before beginning working with Dr. Loops.  I know ZERO about Homeopathy even though I read up on it - there are so many different people who use different treatments for the same ailment.  I need someone who knows what they are talking about so that I can have some faith in the process - and on his website - Dr. Loops sounds like he really knows his stuff.

Thanks for any information anyone can assist me with.

Otis - 121 lbs pre amp - 114 lbs post amp and now 118 lb Great Dane - English Mastiff X.  Started limping on 12/24/16.  Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 12/28/16 - amputation of front left leg on 1/6/17.  Stitches out and 1st round of Chemo on 1/19/17.   2nd round of Carboplatin on 2/10/17 - 3rd round on 3/2/2017.  4th round was scheduled for 3/22/17 - however due to low WBC postponed - 4th Chemo completed on 3/28/17.  Had breathing difficulties, stayed in Tufts ICU overnight.  Due for 2 more rounds of Chemo but we are opting to go with homeopathy with Dr. Loops instead.

I don't have the same scenario/specifics you are looking for, but I HAVE done consults with Dr Loops in the past! Do I know for a fact that his protocols worked? I don't know that. I know it "did no harm" and may have done some good. I do know I felt very confident with his suggestuons.

Many years ago Benny (Benny55) was diagnosed with bone in his front leg. At the time, I didn't know much about any options other than what my regular Vet said. He "off ha dedly" through out the word "amputation", but quickly said something like he wouldn't suggest that. I remember being shocked at the word "amputation" and agreed that would be a "horrible" thing to do TO my Benny!

I did ake a phone call to a Vet my Mom worked for in a other area, and he gave me Dr Loops name. Said other patients had "good results" from him.

Now, here's where I DO think Loops' protocol worked! Although Benny basically hoped along on three legs for many, many, months, he was HAPPY! I know that sounds strange now because his leg had to hurt (I did give him some Tram), but I think by teaching himself how to be a tripawd it didn't bother him unless he put weight on it....just guessing.

He ate with vigour, he played with great abandon, he wagged non-stop, he jumped up on beds, he showed joy the basically the whole time! So I can't PROVE that the holostic approach gave him soooo many great months of extended quality time...but I BELIEVE it did!!!

Also, MyTahoe's dad (Stirling) used Dr Loops. Again, the specifics may hzve been different, but I know he was very pleased with him.

I've offered his name up here many times when someone is looking for a Holistic approach. And unless I find out reasons to do otherwise, I'll continue to do so.

Sorry I can't give you information related specifically to Otis's situation, but I certainly would make an initial contact and see how you feel about it.

Ahhhhh....the bliss of being dog! Otis isn't worried about a thing, just enjoying being Otis! 🙂

Lots of love

I am just throwing this out there: USUALLY chemo is reduced in dosage as the sessions go along. Additionally, there are DIFFERENT chemo drugs that can be administered AND sometimes you can even replace IV sessions with metronomics . Now, would I worry about a reccurence of his breathing issue? Absolutely...So I am not much help. But...Heffalump was a Multi Drug dog (as well as being a TwoPawd) which, at first, we did not know. So while the initial side effects were definitely not ideal (in fact, once he slept almost 24 hours), once dosages were adjusted, the side effects were almost completely reduced. Is there the possibility of discussing this with Tufts? (I am sorry if I missed an earlier thread.) Regardless, Otis is in the most loving, best possible, and gosh darn AMAZING HOME that he could ever dream for. I hope that whichever path you choose will bring Otis success and fewer side effects! Huge hugs, best wishes, and PyrPaws all around!

Although many in the conventionally-trained veterinary community thinks Dr. Loops' methods are hooey, we have seen many Tripawds members experience great success with his recommendations. Here are some articles about Tripawds who worked with Dr. Loops that will give you some insight. And here are some Tripawds articles about homeopathy, his preferred treatment methodology.

Did the vets say anything to you about possibly treating Otis with metronomics ?

Chiming in on Holistic approaches in general and our experiences.

We are not in your shoes of course and we have a Tripawd kitty who had a soft tissue sarcoma!

We do see a holistic Vet who actually quit his traditional practice and started his Holistic practice. I do believe it is worth it!

If something/anything can not hurt them by all means try it!

What do you have to lose! If you can afford it I highly recommend it! If you like what you read, I say go for it!

You can stop if you see no results.

Best case is that you do see results! At least ward off what you can!

I love the holistic approach and believe both traditional and holistic practices are key to this stupid disease. We have to try right?

Hugs !

This our holistic vet, Nick Thompson. He is in the UK, but I thought you might be interested to see his website, as it links to a large amount of research into homeopathic approaches to veterinary care.

Sending all best to you and Otis!

The oncologist assumes I am bringing him back for his other two chemo treatments.   Therefore we have not talked about other options.   I thought metronomics was only for after lung mets could be seen on X-ray?

Metronomics can be given at any time. Many oncologists use it to prevent lung mets.
Let us know how it goes with Dr. Loops' consult. Be sure to have your questions ready. 5 minutes will go fast!

Here's a link to a post thst was originally started by Cassie for her great dog Nesta. It has a lot of good info on holistic/alternative therapies. I think you'll find it helpful.

We spoke with Dr. Loops for a free 5 minute consult on Monday. I am scheduled for a full consult tomorrow and going to try his treatments. Thanks everyone for all the information.

Otis is so strong 💪 the last few days - from the hydrotherapy.  Not sure doing anymore is a good idea lol. He's starting to make me wonder if he can pull me on my face.   I've always been able to control him but the last week - wow stronger than he was on 4 legs and super happy pup.
