What I'm saying with all this is that it's so important to follow your heart and your instinct. Do what you think is right for YOUR dog and you, and not because someone or some abstract says you "should" do something. The Universe has a plan for all of us; listen to your heart, that's the plan speaking to you.
And whatever path you take, we are here to support you one hundred pawcent.
Totally agreed!!! We all make the choices we do for our pups out of love and the information that we have at the time, Brett. You are one PAWESOME dad!! You've done 'good' by Fortis' ten fold!!!!!!!! Keep it up dude!
Don't regret any decisions….or second guess….we all are doing our best!

OfflineHey Fortis Dad
If you can't share your grey days here as well as the more bright pink and yellow ones, where can you go?!? Believe me, in the compressed time-line that Tazzie and I followed last fall (and others are even more compressed), I probably shared more black then grey days, although it seems it changed more moment by moment than day by day. Of course the help and commiseration found here, and Tazzie's himself, usually managed to bring me out of those funks pretty quickly!
So I wonder what the person who started this thread is now thinking about chemo . . . (have we hijacked the topic sufficiently?)
I hope you and Fortis have a great day.

OfflineI'm still confused about it and change my mind day by day! I think the way I keep going back is going on the metronomic program. It seems to be a good middle of the road choice where it is the most convinient for me. I will also continue doing holistic care for Denali too. Ask me again tomorrow and I'll probably tell you that I'm going to do carboplatin though <sigh>. I probably also should take out stock in Philedelphia Cream Cheese because we're going through the stuff like crazy (ok, it's not that bad, but not something I normally buy).
Right now Denali gets the following:
Power Mushrooms – 3 in the morning 3 in the evening
Fish Oil – 1000 mg caps – 3 in the morning, 3 in the evening
Tramadol – 2 in the morning, 2 in the evening (2 in the WEE hours of the morning when I wake up in the middle of the night – so I'm not consistent with this one)
Glucosamine – 1 pill morning, 1 pill evening
1 Transfer Factor and 3 Fresh Factors (made by springtime) daily as well
10 minute massage using a hand massager a day – usually broken up into two 5 minute sessions, sometimes (ok ok – often times) she gets more because she LOVES her massage time. No, she's not spoiled, I'm just well trained
I just don't feel I'm doing enough to fight the cancer though. I just want to do the most to give her the longest quality of life possible!!

None of us ever feel like we're doing/done enough. But our Tripawds always think otherwise; never doubt that Denali loves you no matter what you are doing OK?
