I love that shot of Astro in the back seat. What a sweetie.

What ever happened after your all-nighter? Any clues?

Glad the stitches are out and everything went well!

Happy healing, Astro!

After the all-nighter, I ended up adding in a single dose of tramadol before bed and that seems to have been just enough to keep him down all night. Stopping it again tonight, so we will see if the heebie jeebies are gone yet..... He does seem more relaxed now that the stitches are out, too. So hopefully we are past the confusion stage. I honestly just think he had kind of a mental freakout, where his brain was telling him his leg was itching and he kept trying to find the leg to chew on it to suppress the itch. Then he would get confused and anxious and I'd quiet him for a short period before that darn phantom leg started itching again!  Possibly I should have tried benadryl.  Either way, hopefully it's a thing of the past, and I'm sure Luka will sail on through just fine!

Cheers,

Kat and Astro

Well, it took him 16 days after surgery to remember that his favorite thing in the world is carrying around his toys. Finally feel like he's come all the way back. He's also off all the drugs now, so I'm sure that has helped. He did drop a little weight during recovery, but we are working on more bacon sammiches to beef him back up. laughing

Yay for Astro!  He's come along so fast!   You should go buy him a new toy!  Astro is one tough doggy!

Otis is also off his meds and wow what a difference! He eats like a pig and played with a new toy today for at least half an hour.

Astro tell mom more Starbucks sammiches and lots of toys!

Otis - 121 lbs pre amp - 114 lbs post amp and now 118 lb Great Dane - English Mastiff X.  Started limping on 12/24/16.  Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma 12/28/16 - amputation of front left leg on 1/6/17.  Stitches out and 1st round of Chemo on 1/19/17.   2nd round of Carboplatin on 2/10/17 - 3rd round on 3/2/2017.  4th round was scheduled for 3/22/17 - however due to low WBC postponed - 4th Chemo completed on 3/28/17.  Had breathing difficulties, stayed in Tufts ICU overnight.  Due for 2 more rounds of Chemo but we are opting to go with homeopathy with Dr. Loops instead.
