Hello!

My 99 pound rottie, Arthur, had a leg amputation a month ago, and received his first chemo treatment (cisplatin) last week. He is doing well, and I am swimming in all of the dog cancer information out there.

I have Dr. Dressler's book , and am feeding Arthur the recommended diet.

Now, I am in the process of considering supplements.  It looks like Apocaps and K9 immunity are the way to go? I know that you don't necessarily give them together at the same time, but have other people treated their dogs with BOTH of these products simultaneously? How did it go?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Kai and Arthur

Great question! It is best suited for Dr. Dressler or Dr. Sue Cancer Vet.

We understand that is will not hurt do give both at the same time, as they will not cause adverse reactions, but we wonder if doing so would just be duplicating efforts, at considerable expense.

Glad to hear Arthur is doing well!

And yes, you can definitle feel like you're swimming around in all the research avout what supplements to give, etc.

I did give my Happy Hannah K9 Immunity Plus and Apocaps as part of her daily regiment for awhile.  She was 125 lb chunk of love but I just couldn't maintain the doses consistently because  of the amounts (very costly)  she needed to take for her size.  I did continue the K9 on a somewhat consistent basis.  Did it make a difference in her longevity?  Have no idea.  I did feel like her energy was pretty darn good while she was on it though!!    My "perception" is it "helped" on some level.

Keep on rockin' on three Arthur! 🙂

Thanks so much!  Yes, I did the math and see that the Apocaps for my 100 pound beast will be quite costly--$60 every 10 days!  So, I am going to start on the K9-immunity plus first.  I have a consult with the nutritionist in 2 weeks, and will then ask at that time what her opinion is of the Apocaps .

Would love to hear from others.

Thanks for being such a wonderful community of support and information!

Kai,

I used K9 Immunity Plus for my dog Izzy and she outlived the survival estimates by am incredible margin. I did add Apocaps for a short while but didn't notice ANY improvement.

On the advice of the fine folks at K9 Medicinals, I switched Izzy to Armor-up, which is a newer supplement they offered. Supposedly has all the benefits of immunity Plus and more! Izzy was a literal chow hound so took pills like they were treats so I'm not a reliable source regarding taste (Armor up is a powder), but Izzy did well on both.

I'm sure others will chime in, but there is my two cents!

Good luck - keep us posted!
