Hello,

At the time of surgery, I was presented with an estimate of the total cost of the amputation. I left an initial deposit, and was told since I do have pet insurance , i could apply the portion to the remaining balance. However, was just informed will only be reimbursed the max of approx $1,500. Pressure to pay the remaining balance is weighing heavy on my mind , since I do have other financial obligations. I am unable to secure a loan, recent divorcee, and I am in the process of restoring my credit. What are my other options ?

I had to face this recently, and the whole process is not cheap.  I knew what was coming, and I cut down drastically on my lifestyle for 6 months.  I cancelled my cable t.v., my internet, and stopped eating out altogether.  At the grocery store it was beans and rice instead of luxury items.  This might not help, but that is what worked for me.  It was a temporary change, and now that Ben is past his surgery and chemo treatments, I have realized how much money can be saved if you look at your expenses.
