Not sure if this is the best place to post this… I just saw this on my oncologist's website, and thought I would share in case someone might benefit from this information. For contact information, click here.

Clinical Trial: Oncology C-100 study

The Oncology service at Summit is participating in a pilot study evaluating the safety of a novel therapy. Dogs with measurable tumors (soft tissue sarcoma, squamous cell carcinoma, melanoma, or osteosarcoma), primary or recurrent, who have not received anti-neoplastic therapy within the previous 21 days are potentially eligible. This study provides funding for diagnostics, treatment, and follow up for 2 months. The therapy is anticipated to cause tumor necrosis and inflammation of variable severity, requiring careful case selection for enrollment. No predictions regarding short or long term tumor control outcomes may be made, but this may provide an option for pets that may not otherwise be able to receive any treatment for their tumor.

For pet owners: If you would like more information about your dog’s possible eligibility for this study, please ask your veterinarian to review this information and, if appropriate, contact the oncology service to discuss the specifics of the case.

For veterinarians: Please call to discuss individual cases with Dr. Gillings prior to referral. Dogs are NOT good candidates for this study if their tumors are rapidly growing, as the enrollment process requires 1-2 weeks. Also, large tumors appear to be at higher risk for severe adverse events and these patients may not be accepted into the trial.

Pawesome! Thanks M. We put stuff like this in this Tips & Resources Forum.

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™
