Our dog is in great pain and is on meds for this. He is a black lab around 83 pounds with a large chest. My husband wants to put him down because he is heavy to carry outside. I need a lift that will support his back end and allow him to go to the bathroom. We need to be able to carry him down the steps with this. He only has a nub where he lost his back leg. I have researched this and do not know what product will work.
Please help with things that have worked for you in a similar situation. The online store here does NOT list a phone number for support or anything??????? i find this strange and frustrating.
Thanks for any help!

Laura, I know you must be frustrated with the situation and we don't mean to add to that. But there are just two of us volunteers here who manage the order process as well as mostly everything else on the site (with the exception of our pawesome Forum Moderators). If we listed a phone number we would be getting calls 24/7 since our membership is worldwide. You are more than welcome to contact us via email and leave a #. We will contact you back or you can call us (our phone # is in our email signature).
As we talked about in this recent discussion,
Unfortunately we still haven't found the perfect hip support harness for rear-legged Tripawds, and we have looked everywhere. The problem is because if a Tripawd is missing a rear leg, the hip support harnesses that are out there don't stay on….there is no leg to keep the loops in place. And even when a Tripawd like our Wyatt has a stump, there's still not enough leg to keep leg loops in place.
We have looked into this harness in the past, but after hearing more than one complaint from different users about it not working well with large dogs, we chose not to carry it. The Ruff Wear Doubleback Harness might work, but honestly it doesn't work that well on our Tripawd Wyatt, who has a good long stump on his rear leg. There just isn't enough there to keep the loops in place for a proper lift.
You may want to re-visit this discussion to read about other's exerperiences with other products for lifting a dog from the hip. I wish I could be of more help. Oh another option may be to consider a wheel cart.

OfflineI am ordering the AST Get a grip harness- I will let you know how it works.
Daisy, I look forward to hearing from you and your experience. I ordered two different ones from Dick's. At least I can return them easily if they do not work.
I would also like to thank you for the response in regards to the products and your time. That makes sense now. Guess there isn't a lot of information in my situation. Opportunity for someone that can sew!
