Sounds a silly question I know but how does a rear leg amputee scratch anything mid body and up? Butch hasn't scratched himself since his op 32 days ago and he used to love a long behind the ear scratch with either one of his rear legs. He still won't lie on the op side so he hasn't scratched with the good leg either. We keep 2 dog brushes near his bed, one for the undercoat and another a massage type brush which we use a few times a day just in case he has an itch. Anyone else wondered this or am I just being a mummy..?

I think in that book Without Regret (mastiff with rear leg amputation) it talks about them not wanting or having a hard time scratching. In time Butch will figure it out.
