Yesterday I met this amazing boy, his name is Sonny a 6 month old hound mix Trapawd. Sonny was born with a very short and abnormal right front leg. The leg was not usable at all, so the vet choose removed it to relieve Sonny of any problems he may have in the future with it. Open Arm's Rescue of WNY was contacted by a shelter in Tennessee to see if they could take Sonny in. They had heard that OAR had taken in another Tripawd (which happens to be my beautiful boxer Belle) and other special need animals. OAR stepped up and got him to NY! Sonny has only know what it is to hop on three and is doing great getting around. His temporary foster says he is even able to get up on the bed with help of a set of doggy stairs next to the bed. Now Sonny is ready for his next journey, a furever home. I am unable to foster Sonny at this time, but I have promised him that I would do everything in my power to find him his own family that can take care of his special needs and to keep him in good health. I know how wonderful the Tripawd network is, so I was hoping that Sonny's story could be shared and to help him find a family of his own. Sonny is going to make some family very happy. He loves to snuggle and play, he shows his appreciation in every kiss he gives you.

To say that I am excited about Sonny being part of the OAR rescue family is putting it mildly. laughing Finding him his new family would just be the cherry on my sundae. And anyone that knows me, knows I LOVE my ice cream!!winker

If anyone wants more information or is interested in adopting Sonny please contact me. Darcirb2671@gmail.com

Thanks for sharing! We've moved this here to the Tripawd Rescue Forum where more readers seeking a pup may find it. Fixed your image links too! FYI: Copy the image file location (not the gallery page) to embed images in forum posts.

Hope this helps.

He's such a cutie! Hope he finds his furever home soon!

Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
