Ben owes his life to a kind man who rescued the injured stray, got him surgery, nursed him back to health, and fell in love with him. But one of his family’s other dogs attacked gentle Ben, and it’s not safe for them to stay in the same house. So now Ben desperately needs to find a forever home.

Can you help?

Ben loves people so much that instead of barking at strangers, he licks their hands! Snuggling and getting belly rubs are his favorite things in the world. Ben is wonderful with children and loves being around other dogs. Bigger male dogs tend to pick on him, so he prefers smaller, female dogs. He weighs about 50 pounds and is four or five years old.

About six months ago, Ben was found starving in a field with a badly broken leg. He was already neutered, so must have belonged to somebody once. But nobody came forward to claim him. Sadly, the vet had to amputate one of his front legs. Ben gets around fine on three legs, is healthy and house-trained. Plus, he has a wonderful, warm, yet dignified personality that quickly endears him to everyone who meets him.

You can also help Ben find a forever family by posting his adoption flyer wherever dog lovers might see it.
