This was just posted on our Tripawds Facebook page. We are actually down the street from this shelter for the next week, and will help in any way we can to get this boy to a furever home.

Senior Front Leg Tripawd

TRIPOD ALERT!!! SHADOW came in to the Baldwin Park pound today. He's

super friendly & loving & adores a good belly rub. They think

he's 6 but the former owner's neighbor, who brought him in, thinks they

had him for 10 years. When asked, the neighbor said the family moved to

Texas & just left him behind.

Shadow is a loving & calm

German Shepherd & really just needs a comfy bed to call his own in

a loving warm home. He will be ready for adoption & rescue Jan.

3rd. He must stay the mandatory stray dog period as the woman who

brought him in was not the legal guardian. ID#A4226370

Great news! A pawesome rescue in Minnesota wants to adopt Shadow. They will pay for a flight from L.A. to Stillwater, MN!!!

The only thing is, we need a foster family in L.A. to hold him for a week until we can get him a new kennel and a ticket.

Can anyone hold this boy for a few days?

We (Admin Guy and I) can get him out of the pound and bring him to you.

Please help spread the word! We only have a few days to get him out.

I was going to volunteer to do a partial transport… but I guess he's taken care of! :)

He looks an awful lot like an Anatolian Shepherd or Kangal– like Cemil. Wish I was close enough to help out–I'll be following his story.

Mary, can you point me to that page? I can't find it.

Apparently someone did indeed pull him (another rescue person), but I can't yet tell if he's with NASRN or not. I'm guessing Shadow will still need a furever home, but luckily for him, there's a sanctuary in Minnesota waiting for him if the rescue person can get him there. I'm working on connecting these two groups now.

Update on Shadow (chubby Cemil look-alike)–He's having trouble getting to his Furever Home:

If anyone remembers Malachi, another Anatolian Shepherd Tripawd cancer survivor…it's his mom who is adopting Shadow. I'm going to chip in and I challenge whoever is interested to do the same–the needed amount is pretty small. Poor guy was left behind when his family moved, pulled from a shelter where he was scheduled to be pts, and now just needs to get to his new home.
