Caring for a Three Legged Dog or Cat

We received this rescue notice recently and are hoping someone can help:

We have a 3 legged Pit Bull that we have had in boarding at our vet now for over a year.  Skippy was a stray and wandered over to a fenced yard with another dog in it, they began fence fighting and Skippy’s leg was caught in one of the links.  The other dog proceeded to chew Skippy’s leg almost all the way off while he stood there helpless.  

We feel because of this Skippy can only be adopted or fostered in a home with no other dogs, which I’m sure you are probably aware, is a very difficult task to find. 

Any help would be greatly appreciated. In May itwill be 2 years since poor Skippy went to the shelter where his leg was found to be unsalvageable and amputated.  Skippy is nothing but loving to all people including children, he just needs a one dog home.
