I understand (I think)  the "comment awaiting moderation " s a function set by the blogger., right?  Then the comment has to be approved by a 'Moderator."

I wrote a comment Oct 21 on the above  blog.  Noted that Jerry wrote a reply Oct 23 and my reply is still "awaiting", etc. So wouldn't  a moderator see it automatically when they replied a d remove it?  Or does the blogger still have to take an additional step?

And another question.  This apparently is a "choice" a blogger can make in settings about whether they want comments to be "moderated", right?    Guess it's necessary, but the blogs who don't require it have a better chance of not missing eplies.

It's not a biggie.  I merely care because it saddens me when someone does a blog and gets overlooked.

I hope I explained myxelf better than I usually do!  I tried!

Thank you! 🙂

Mine are set up so that I have to approve any comments. So I think the blogger has to approve it.

The first time I blogged, I got emails any time I got comments with links to where I could approve or reject them. It was that way by default for me. But Jerry left a comment that I never got an email for and didn't approve for days because I didn't see it. I was going to mess around in the settings to turn it off, but then I got a spam comment so I left it on.

David and Rocky (and Baxter now too!)

Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.

He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.

He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.

Yes Sally the blogger would have to approve the comment.

So wouldn't  a moderator see it automatically when they replied a d remove it?  Or does the blogger still have to take an additional step?

They would get a email saying '" a comment is awaiting moderation"  They come to the site & sign in & approve comment .

This apparently is a "choice" a blogger can make in settings about whether they want comments to be "moderated", right?    Guess it's necessary, but the blogs who don't require it have a better chance of not missing eplies. They would get a email stating they have a comment awaiting moderation, then they just go to the blog sign in and approve it.

It is the way the blog is set up, it is set up that way to protect from the spammers, once they approve one of your comments you will be approved & you wont get another message awaiting moderation.

It is possible it went into spam and the blogger has not seen it at all? The blogger doesn't get notified of spam, I forget to look at my spam mail oh-my The blogger wouldn't get a email saying they have a spam.

It is a big deal you care & took the time to write them of course you want it to go thru!

Hope that helps.

heart

DAVID AND HOLLY!!!    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO 'SPLAIN IT!!   VERY KIND!! heart  And I know the Admin Guy appreciates more than he could ever express!way-cool

In this particular case, guess it didn't show up in their regular email.

I've had it happen before and after four or five days I just never went back to check.   I felt badly for those who never got any response just because of that.   I know that happens regardless, vut it's just sad that tpwhen they DO get a response.....they don't  know it!  In some cases,  I  don't think they ever come back.

RHANKS AGAIN SO MUCH DAVID AND HOLLY

SUPER DUPER explanation, thank you David and Holly.

The reason you may see my or Admin's comments approved on a blog but not yours, is because ours do not require approval. I know, we're special that way 😉

Oftentimes I believe that those emails notifying comments awaiting moderation get sent to the user's spam folder, and they never see it.

If you'd like to find out how the user is doing, you can always Private Message them by looking up their user name in the Tripawds Members listing. The user name is located in the URL of their blog. So for example, the user name for the blog owner of http://WyattRay.....ipawds.com is, Wyatt Ray . Easy right?

BAM!!! LIGHTBULB JUST TURNED ON IN MY HEAD!! 🙂  You just made it EASY!! 🙂

I know I've "been told" I can always PM a blogger and have been directed to "search blogs".   Well, OBVIOUSLY I never could find their member name that way because I didn't have the last piece of that  puzzle of how to find it in the URL until now!!!   Yeah, what is usually the obvious unspoken next step for most, never occurs  to me and has to be spelled out!!  Ohhhh myyyy!   Whole new world just opened up!!!

THANK YOU AGAIN JERRY, DAVID AND HOLLYheart

Don't get too excited just yet... Jerry was correct, to a point:

The user name is located in the URL of their blog.

While this is the case for most Tripawds Blogs , it is not always the case!

Most users do create a blog based on their username. That is the default. Many Tripawds Members, however, choose to customize the subdomain for their blog. Take for instance, adaywithdaisy.tripawds.com created by user kneil0305. This is how we have sites like the Tripawds Nutrition blog , Gear blog , Gifts blog, etc., all created by the same user.

FYI: Many blog themes include the Author name above or below the blog post. Not all of them, but users who have changed their theme may show this information on their sites, depending on the selected theme.
