Thank you all for your continued feedback. We have now taken every step possible to optimize the site for performance since the WordPress 2.7 and Simple:Press 4.0 plugin upgrade. The blog and forums are now running on a new MySQL v. 5.0 database. This took many hours of tedious backend work and  there is no turning back.

It is apparent that certain IE users will experience poor performance compared to those who use the Firefox web browser. We recommend that smooth scrolling be turned on if you do use Internet Explorer, and that you ensure tripawds.com is a trusted site in your security settings.

The number of users online at one time may also affect performance. The next optional attempt to improve performance on this site would be to upgrade from our current shared hosting account to a new VPS account or dedicated server. This would require a solicitation of funds to support the migration and increased hosting costs. We are looking into this, but initial estimates indicate we may need an additional $1,500/year to maintain this site for optimized growth.

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™
