Whew!
After many hours buried in PHP function edits and MySQL queries, we believe we have restored most of the data here in the Tripawd Forums. We're now running Simple:Press 4.0 WordPress forum plugin, and we owe a debt of gratitude to the fine folks at Yellow SwordFish for their generous assistance.
Anyway … beyond the new look, you should notice a number of new great features. One we're most really about is the new Private Messaging system! Just click on the new Inbox button to compose and send private messages directly to other forum members.
First, however, we strongly suggest you update your profile. Some data may have been lost in the upgrade, but you'll also discover new extended profile settings like Signature Images, and Buddy Lists!
For detailed support, please visit the SimplePress Support Forum. We'll try to address specific questions in this thread, but we're still learning all the new functions too!
A few less painless site upgrades may be coming soon, once some of the hair we've been pulling out grows back. Thank you for your patience.

We notice image URLs for photos embedded in existing posts have broken since the upgrade. We're looking into it.

Oh Yeah!!! Hopefully we fixed that bugger for good.
Only remaining known issue is that photos embedded in posts prior to the upgrade are not displaying properly. The fix is to edit the URL so it points to the correct location of image file. Image URL should not include "…/forums/forum-name/topic/name/…"
Somehow all existing image URLS got appended in the upgrade. Damn gremlins! We may have to live with this one, or fix them as we come across them … in our copious free time.
If you would like moderator access to help us out with forum management, send Jerry a Private Message. Thank you for your continued support.

The forum is looking good!! I'm going to try out the new features
Now this may be a problem at my end but everything runs VERY slow for me. (I'm using other forums and other websites though and not having the same issue so I thought it worth mentioning). It's sort of very….jerky rather than smooth when I'm scrolling (as if it's trying to 'catch up') and also the same when I'm typing. Might I need to get my DH to look at some security/other settings or something?

It looks good, a lot of features to be explored.
I thought it was only me. Yes, it is slow. Often after the top half of a page was loaded, the browser would freeze for a good 20 secs before the rest to be loaded.
Occasionally, the banner with the rating stars would line up vertically instead.
The drop-down listboxes for New/Recently Update and Select Forum, are not wide enough to display more of the indented Topic and Forum titles respectively.
On the whole, the upgrade version is beautiful! Thanks!

Interesting … thanks for the performance notice. Try clearing your browser cache to see if it gets any better. We notice some speed issues with WordPress 2.7 on the backend, but not when browsing and posting to the forums.
Depending on what version you use, a browser update may help. The new site uses a lot of Ajax programming. Firefox also supports a plugin called Gears that will turbo charge performance by storing commonly used scripts locally on your machine instead of always pulling them from the server. Security settings may also be the culprit since there are a lot of new scripts running that may be getting misinterpreted as malicious.
Jim would need to see a screenshot of the drop-down boxes. They look good (and wide) here.

I love the new look of the forum also, but I am having some issues. First, I can no longer copy/paste photos into the post. It's also very slow for me, too. I have cleared my cache, I have the latest version of IE. And something seems to be wrong with the cookies as I have to log in every time I come here or my posts get posted as "kcgrey-guest". Very strange indeed.

I'm not technical at all so I got Marc (DH) to look at what you'd written about cache's and the like and he's done all that for me and also, rather than using IE7 as I normally do, I am now coming to you via Firefox. In Firefox it's better when I type (much more smooth and not as if there is a delay between my fingers hitting the keys and the letters appearing on the screen) and it's also marginally better as far as scrolling. But it still takes ages to load any page/thread. I'd say about 10+ seconds.
In IE7, it's all just like it was when I posted this morning :(
(I also don't think I can see any new buttons etc as you mentioned in my PM).

It's meeeee again I'm now back in IE7 which is just horrific LOL. It's doing jerky typing and terrible jerky scrolling.
Just before I go and eat (I'll be back later), one more thing I noticed which may be how you planned it but you know if I click on my own name – normaly that would take me to my profile on other forums but here, it takes me to my 'homepage'. When I click on my name in Firefox, I can click the back button and end up back here but when I do it in IE7, I'm stuck forever on my homepage. (I know there is a button here specifically for profile).
