Hey folks, we could really use some help getting the word out to the press about the monumental Virginia party that's happening. The press really needs to know about this, don't you agree?
We have a small database of reporters / writers in the Eastern U.S. who focus on pets. But the list needs to be updated and more names added. We need a volunteer who wants to add more names to the database.
I can send out the emails, all we need is someone to find the best people to send it to. If that's you, please let us know by Sunday 4/2. Thanks!

When Frankie took Merry Myrtle on an unauthorized four day "vacation", a local tv reporter, who also happens to own a tripawd, saw one of Elizabeth's FB post on them. She was going to put it on the news the night that I found them!

Well basically I need someone who can work in Excel (preferably Google Sheets, online) and update our press contacts database with information like Sally provided (and THANK YOU Sally, we'll add those to the database). We're looking for that sort of information about reporters on TV and the press in the VA area and a little beyond that. Generally it's found with google searches and on Twitter. We also need someone to go through our existing names to find out if those people are still working for the same companies.
If you think you're up to it let me know and I'll put the spreadsheet in Google so you can start adding names to it if you're ready. If this is too much I totally understand OK?

I work a lot, a lot in Excel. I have never touched Google Sheets although I'm guessing I can figure it out. How hard can it be? (HA!)

So, I have no experience with this. But, if I did, I might just send something to all of the local news emails since they are posted right there on their newscasts and pitch a story, no? They are always looking for something like this and if you can get some veterinary specialists to come out... I can ask my vet who treated Ted and did his amp and also took him over the bridge if she would be interested in coming and meeting the group or at least doing an interview if you get press? I live in Northern Virginia and can collect hashtags or email addresses from the local news if you want.
I am planning to attend - but we will be in Colorado until Saturday so I most likely will only make the end of the party!

PS. To piggyback on your great suggestion and DaBear's, inviting any Vets who want to join in on the pawty as guests would be a nice touch! However, just as an aside the set-up isn't really conducive to actually having "guest speakers" per se. It's an open public park and, additionally, it looks like those attending will be coming and going at varying different times. PLUS, while we'll have several well behaved quiet dogs, we are also going to have a lot of noisy dogs who will be requiring a lot of attention!
