That was a wonderful article.  It's great to find various avenues to get the word out about the Tripawd community and that amputation is not the end but a new beginning.  When I was researching about amputation I just happened to stumble across the Tripawd site and I'm so glad that I did.

Thanks for creating a place for us Tripawd parents to share in our experiences.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

The number one compliment we can ever receive is when a veterinarian refers us to clients, and it's even more pawesome when that vet writes about us online! Here's a great post by British vet Cat Henstridge BVSc MRCVS:

Information overload? – Trusting online pet advice

If you are after more specific information, for example a particular disease or health issue, again there is lots of great quality advice out there. A nurse I work with recently had to have her dog’s leg amputated and she found great comfort from the website and forum tripawds.com. Forums like this exist for most pet health issues, and for specific breeds or interests like agility or working dogs, and they can be a fabulous way of speaking with people in similar situations.

Woot! Another honor in this San Francisco Gate Vet Q&A Column, by Dr. Shaw at Sage Vet Centers in Northern California:

"Dog with osteosarcoma can be active after leg amputation."

"Q:My 4-year-old greyhound has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in her rear left leg. My vet is recommending amputation, but I'm concerned about her quality of life thereafter, especially since she's so active. I'm heartsick and not sure what is best for her."

To which Dr. Shaw says:

"In addition to having further conversations with your veterinary oncologist, I recommend you go to https://www.tripawds.com for resources, video links, and a chance to reach out to other pet owners who have been where you are today."

3-paws up to Dr. Shaw!

Ok folks, we're asking for your help to get some media coverage for the upcoming Tripawds and Greyhounds Rock pawty in Fredericksburg, VA on Memorial Day weekend. If you have any kind of connection to an East Coast pet writer, radio show host, newspaper columnist, anyone who can help get the word out we would love any leads you can pass along.

We have a great pitch for a pre-event story to cover, about the wonderful pets & pawrents here and those who will be attending, and heck we can even submit something ourselves. We're just trying really hard to get media coverage before the event and so far not much luck crying

Please Private Message us if you can help. Thank you!

That is a wonderful write-up on being a Tripawd pup or kitty!!  Articles like this help to dispel the misguided thinking of general society that amputation is horrible for our pets.

Awesome Job Rene!
