Hi Everyone,

Ok, it's official: Team Tripawds has been launched! We've filled out the application for the Morris Animal Foundation K9K Walk in Colorado on 9/19.

Now, we need to commit to signing up at least 10 team members at $25 each, or raise $250 or more. As our Northern California Tripawds have suggested, a Tripawd Pawty is happening there on the same day as this event in Colorado.

It would be great if other Tripawds across the country could hold their own get-togethers on the same day, and help raise funds for our team.

Our official Team Tripawds page will be launched this week. A blog post will be posted as soon as it goes live. Once it does, you can start signing up there.

Thanks for the encouragement to get involved everyone! Let's get out there and raise some money to end canine cancer forever!

You can count on us for 2 for a virtual walk in Colorado. We'll watch for the link to sign up for Team Tripawd.

We did the walk in Elk Grove and it was tons of fun and a great cause. Morris Animal Foundation has a wonderful Canine Cancer Campaign. Hopefully we can  give this disease a big kick to the curb one day.

Speaking of Cancer…. we just participated this morning in a fundraising walk for Kaleo. He is a retired Sacramento Sheriff K9 who recently retired due to a cancer diagnosis. Sacramento county cannot pay his veternary bills for something like this and they do not cover vet costs for retired  K9 dogs so his owner is on his own. And… as we all know treating canine cancer is not cheap.

Aww, this is awesome everyone. We're waiting for the finishing touches on our Team Tripawds web page so we can all sign up.

Seanne, that's great about Kaleo's fundraising walk, I hope a lot of money was raised. Do you have any links to news stories about him? I'll be happy to put something on the blog. That really stinks that police dogs don't get their health needs covered during retirement. It's the least the counties could do for these heroes!

Thanks guys….

I sent you some news links for Kaleo  and here is the link to the Sacramento Sheriff Dept. K9 assoiciation. A group that is not directly affilitated with the Sheriff department, but was put together to support the K9 deputies and their dogs. It is very sad the county does not support these heroes after their retirement.  Given the crime increase here in Sacramento county these dogs and their handlers give so much to the community.

Can't wait to be part of Team Tripawd once again… wish we could walk it in person… but virtually will do for now. Smile

HI everybody:

Tika here. Mom's travelling for work (again!!!), but we wanted to let you know that we'll be signing up.  We were just looking at the pics on the Walk's website and sighing big sighs. We were just there last week! We walked around Lake Estes!!

They have an awesome dog park that you can go play in the lake or do agility stuff.  Caya liked that.

We wish we could come back and participate in person, but sigh, my humans won't be able to get away.

September 1st, I find out if my IL-2 therapy worked. Let's all cross our paws!

Puppy Up!

Tika, tell your Mom THANK YOU!!!! How very kind. We wish you could be here too! Well, at least you got to walk the trail, that's pretty neat. On walk day, we'll picture your petty face walking alongside with us.

September 1st can't come fast enough. We'll be thinking of you girl. xoxoxo
