Hey Everypawdy! We just formed our official Team Tripawds page for the Morris Animal Foundation's Cure Canine Cancer Walk in Elk Grove, CA on Sunday, April 29, 2012.

Join us at this fun and very worthwhile event. You can be there in person or stay home and just join us in spirit.

Let's start our fundraising now, so we can kick butt and make it into the Top 10 Teams honor role once again.

Thanks for your enthusiasm and participation. Together we can end this awful disease.

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™

We <3 Morris Animal Foundation and Team Tripawds!

Hope you reach the goal!

Jackie & the whole pack

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. We will be paws on the ground in Elk Grove for the third year in a row. This year walking in memory of Tri-Pug Maggie, and in celebration of Quad-Pug Tani (Mag's little sis) who is living with mast cell cancer.
Hopefully we will be joined by some of our Nor Cal friends, and I'm looking forward to meeting new friends, two, three, and four legged!
Besides, I had to join up, Tani's picture is on the Team page with Angel Sierra!

And speaking of Angel Sierra . . .

Sierra's pack has joined Team Tripawds! Many thanks to Brad and Anna for supporting the Morris Animal Foundation and walking with us on April 29.

Oh, one more thing…if you're ever wondering how your funds are used by Morris, just check out our latest Downloads blog post, where you'll meet Dr. Barbara Biller.

Dr. Biller recently completed a Metronomic Dose Finding Study, which was funded by Morris. Because of your fundraising and the doctor's hard work, veterinarians now have a standardized dose of cytoxan for treating soft tissue sarcomas with metronomic chemotherapy!

I am so happy that I actually joined the team and I WILL be there walking as well, in honor of my beautiful Misty girl with her lab sisters Lola and Millie. I don't know why but while I was registering for the event I couldn't stop crying! My heart just aches for all the wonderful dogs we have lost and all the ones who are living with this horrible disease now. Team Tripawds walkers let me know who you are and how we can meet up at the event.

Hi Fiona,
I'm looking forward to meeting you in person! I'll probably be pushing or pulling the pug stroller, and I have 2 black pugs. We will figure out how to meet up when we get closer to the event.
When I went last year, the first year without Maggie I did fine until I pulled into the parking lot- then it hit me- I'm walking in memory of Mag, not with Mag. But we will meet up with whoever else is coming and help each other through it!
Thanks for joining the 'paws on the ground' part of the team.

Wooo hoooo! Fiona we just saw your registration, thank you so much!

Thank you for walking in honor of your princess Misty. Because of your efforts, some day there will be a cure and no dog will ever have to part ways with their pack because of cancer, ever again.

The team can't wait to meet you, Lola and Millie.

Hi folks,
We are really looking forward to the walk this year. We did it last year and met Karen and her wonderful pugs. We had no idea what expect and the emotions were all over the map. Sierra was there last year and became a favorite of the MC and the folks that were displaying an ice bath which she jumped right into and promptly laid in. I will have to post those photos!
When we got the email and saw Angel Sierra on the Morris website, we were so proud she represents the community and Tripawds. She, like so many others, was absolutely amazing. Of it all brings the emotions back but it is all worth it, amazing friends, amazing dogs and memories, and a very special cause to all of us.
We can't wait to see you all, make new friends, share stories and tears, and walk for a great cause!

Brad, Anna, Spirit Sierra, and Kenner

Yee Haw! Thanks to a generous donation from member ET Gayle's Pack, and new Team Tripawds member Desiree Haight, of The Jogging Dog in Sacramento, Team Tripawds has met our team goal of $500!

Team Tripawds is ranked #5 in Morris' list of Top Fundraising Teams for Elk Grove.
Let's keep going so we can make it to #1!

Desiree is so kind to join us for the walk. She has a great story, and told us:

"I will be walking with my border collie mix Spade, who lost his leg last year due to complications resulting from a run-in with a motorcycle. I have been fortunate so far in that none of my dogs have had cancer. However, it is always in the back of my mind, particularly with my nearly 12 year old golden retriever, as they tend to be prone to cancer. On a more personal note, the former CEO of the Morris Foundation, Patricia Olson, adopted a career change golden retriever guide dog puppy years ago that I raised."

Here's a picture of Spade. You can read the rest of his story here in the Jogging Dog Blog: Thanks for helping us reach our goal, Desiree. But hey, why stop now, right?

Come on everpawdy, join us in Elk Grove or virtually from home!

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™

We will keep an eye out for Spade and Desiree on walk day- and of course Gayle will be with us in Spirit!
