Oh my gosh Holly, you are very sweet, thank you so much for putting a smile on our faces today!

We are SO grateful to you, Purrkins and everyone here in the present, the past and whoever joins our community in the future. Each day the animals and humans here touch our lives in so many wonderful ways. It's not always an easy place to be, there's a lot of heavy emotion and tears at times. When people find time from their hectic lives to be here and support one another through the ups and downs, it literally restores our faith in humanity. Jerry would be so proud.

We are grateful, Tripawds Nation, because . . .

You teach us so many lessons! (Watch tomorrow's Tripawds News blog to read about them).

Your friendship, kindness, enthusiasm and support are spreading the Tripawds message around the globe.

Each day is a reminder to live life to the fullest.

And no matter what, living as our Tripawd heroes do is the best path to take.

As a pack, not a day goes by when we don't forget that we are grateful for our families, our health, our home on wheels, and the food on our table. We never forget how precious each day is. Thank you all soooo much for these reminders. We love you! Hoppy Thanksgiving!

Gator and I are thankful to be part of a worldwide pack, especially since that pack includes Otis and Tess too (and Enzo, Princess and Sophia, the cat bloggers, and my blog designer).  I am especially thankful that I did not have to go through two of the hardest nights of my life alone.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Where to even begin...

I am so thankful for this site and for Rene and Jim who are so dedicated to keeping us all together. I am grateful that even though Murphy has crossed the Bridge, we are all still a part of this big family. Everyone here has such an impact on the others. We laugh together and we cry together, and not a one of us is ever going through this journey without the others by our side.

Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

I am thankful for the Tripawd Family.....the last 2 1/2 years would've been infinitely harder without you.

I am thankful for the almost-miracle that Nitro is still with us, and is happy, and goofy and "healthy".

I am thankful for this journey, as weird as that sounds; I have grown as a person, and have realized I am stronger than I ever knew. I have celebrated, and cried, with friends that mean the world to me.

I am thankful that life is good at the Ehlers' ranch.

Paula and Nitro

Nitro 11 1/2  yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! My Warrior beat cancer, but couldn't beat old age. He crossed the Bridge peacefully on July 25, 2017, with dignity and on his terms.  Follow his blog entitled "Doberman's journey"

I am so thankful for the Tripawd Nation.  That Jim & Rene started this place for themselves and it just blossomed into so much more.  The smiles, the love, even the tears.  The bonds that are formed here are just incredible!  heart

I'm thankful that Murphy has far surpassed all expectations.  He amazes us every day.  I can't believe we've had over 3 1/2 years so far and he's doing so well.  I'm thankful for the health of our other fur babies, too.

I'm thankful for our family - our kids & our grandchildren - they are my heart

I'm thankful for our health.  Even if it's not perfect & pain-free, it's good, and we woke up today - some didn't.

Donna

Donna, Glenn & Murphy

Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

Yes!!! SO MUCH to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! I don't know how I would have handled Fionn's surgery and recovery without the AMAZING support from the admins and people on this site. I am ever so grateful I found this familyheart. We all share a unique journey and the special bond and love we have for our furr kids. Today, Fionn is happy and healthy and I am so thankful for that and how ever many more days we are given. He ran away from me on our walk this morning to greet my neighbor. They share a special bond. She is an amputee from a type of sarcoma too! I actually had no idea she was an amputee until Fionn's surgery and we were talking about it. Since then, they have become best friends and he will ignore everyone else if she is around. Kindred spiritsheart

Nancy- mom to the FABULOUS Fionn. He rescued me in 2015 when he was 6.

Right front leg amputation at age 7 for osteosarcoma 10/6/16. Taken too soon 6/12/17. Read about our journey here:

Thankful for giving us hope when we thought there was none, thankful for all the love and support we have received from this community, for the hugeness of your hearts and for your joy and laughter too.

So thankful for the tribal knowledge shared here and the supportive community.  For all of you who helped me "Be More Dog " and enjoy the months Pofi had post amputation.  For the cheering and the empathy. For the chance to give back to others what you all gave me.

And most of all, thankful for the love and care you have shown us.  For mourning the loss of my beautiful boy along with me and celebrating his incredible spirit.  You have made me feel so much less alone in my sorrow and helped me to not second guess myself too much.

Lisa, Minneapolis

On October 27, 2016, nearly 6 months after amputation, and 18 months since his cancer likely started, we lost Pofi to a recurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma in his spine quite suddenly.  His canine sister also succumbed to cancer on March 1, 2019 - we lavished her with our love in the interim, but life was never quite the same without her only real canine friend. Cliff kitty had to leave us, too, suddenly, in August 2019. Lucia kitty grieved all these losses, but helped us welcome two new Lurchers into our home and our lives, Shae and Barley.

With gratitude

Ditto everyone here!  I'm also thankful I can come here after loosing Max and not be judged if I can't post every day because sometimes it's just too hard to do so.  You all understand.  It was so great to meet some of you in person this Sept and I hope to meet more of you in time. The bonds we share here truly cannot be broken.  You all were with me during the hopeful times and the worst times and I thank you all for the support.  Jim & Rene you have created just a magical place here that transcends the heavens!

to say thankful is an understatement! This place saved me while I tried to save Shelby!!! Without this community, I would have been so lost all by myself here in the big city.

And what has come of it since i lost Shelby? Some of the best friends a girl can have ... some that I have never met but have learned MORE about in the years and their hearts are ALL gold - pure gold!

I am so thankful for this place and even if I am away a week or more ... I can always feel like I am coming home. Thank you ALL!

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.

October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
