Today marks 4 months since Elly joined our little pack.  It's important because it is as long a time as she has spent in any of her three previous homes (she is only about 14 months old!).

She now loves my Dad and a couple days ago actually gave him kisses.  She spent the first three weeks barking at him every morning and wouldn't let him touch her for about 5 or 6 weeks.

We are 2/3 of the way through our first Obedience class and she is doing very well. Elly's foster Mom implied that she wasn't too bright- but she has picked up all the basic commands just fine.  She will also 'leave-it' when told  and will go to a mat and lie down on the 'place' command.  She figured out Dog Twister and we work on her FitBone every day. I think foster Mom was seeing how stubbon a pug/beagle can be.

But the biggest news- she got Obie to play with her!!!! I adopted quad pug Obie 5.5 years ago at the age of 4.  He had been neglected and abused and never properly socialized.  His eyesight is also very poor so he is not comfortable outside when lots of dogs are running around (like the dog park). He had not played with another dog in all the time I've had him!

This video is sort of like her life with us so far- a little timid and unsure at first, but by the end quite at home.  Enjoy!

Awwww Karen this is a HUGE milestone for all of you! YAY!

The work you've done with Elly and Obie is just so fantastic. You've given these two lucky dogs a shot at being the best doggies they can be and they're rewarding you and your pops with kisses and fun times. Congrats!!!!

Huge smile on my face here.  Elly is utterly adorable!  The ending had me laughing out loud!  She is just thriving under your umbrella of love that goes on in your home.

I LOVE HER!!!!!!! OMG ... this is the cutest ever ... and I love by day 3 - your home basically looks like my 24/7 - fluff all around!

What HUGE milestones!!!! I firmly believe ... dogs just need to feel loved and secure and they will shine! Heck, look how far Jasper has come in a year ... she embraces the beach! Never did I think I would see that.

Way to go Elly .... she is living her best life ... it shows!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Love it!  Max is usually the "killer" of the stuffed babies in our house lol  Good thing that stuff is easy to clean up!  Those babies are so lucky you found them!!
