We are glad we get to share the end of the month with our friends Holly and Abby!  Just want to let you guys know Sammy is doing great today.   16 months ago was the day he began to fight, 16 months and a few bumps later, he is still going strong!!

Yay for Sammy the Strong, long may his tail wave :)

Hooorrray for Sammy!  What type of treatments have you been using chemo…holistic. I am fairly new to this site so I don't have any background information on how you guys are fighting this thing. Are there earlier posts…forums to be directed to?

My dog Bender is celebrating his 3 week ampuversary and diagnosed with osteocarcoma as well.  I hope to help him fight the good fight as well!

Thanks and Congrats,

Betsy and the Bdawg

Woot! Woot! Yaaaahooo! Congratulations Sammy, sweet sixteen indeed! You've really shown the world that despite some setbacks, things do get better and life can get back to normal once more. Thank you for being here to inspire so many.

Betsy, you can read Sammy's blog here.

It's better to hop on three legs than to limp on four.™

Thanks friends :)

It is lots of "medicinal napping" going on today, resting up for the big adventure tomorrow when I take both boys to go see Dr. Pam.  I managed to take a shower today, but thats about it.  I love having an exra few days off!!

Betsy and Bender, I am so sorry about Benders diagnosis, but welcome aboard and congrats on 3 weeks.  I can encapsulate our journey for you.  Sammy did 6 rounds of carboplatin (it was actually a generic version, MUCH CHEAPER comparitively)he took his suppliments then and now which are his daily fish oil, power mushrooms, glucosamine/chonrotin mix, metronomic therapy (which is a daily chemo pill) and meloxicam.  Evo wieght management dog food.  Low carb EVERYTHING except for the piece of bread I squish his pills in.  Carbs feed cancer, so stay away from those!

Back to squishing up to my favorite boy along with a good book.  Love you guys :)

Kami, Angel Mackenzie, Scarlett and Kobe

My sweet golden Mackenzie.  She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2  although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home.  She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009.  She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes.  I love you Mackenzie!

Hooray for Sammy!!! 16 months is pawesome!!! Extra treats for Abby to celebrate!

Glad to hear he is doing better,
Jackie, Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman.
