Today I want everyone to celebrate Trouble and Cooper, two great warrior heroes whose ampuversaries were on this great day. Trouble and Cooper may be romping in the fields at Rainbow Bridge, but they were a huge part of the Tripawd family and I'm sure Ken will approve if we all have a mini celebration in their honor today.

The first ampuversary without them is the hardest, so I will be with you virtually Ken as you make it through this first one without Cooper. Reflect and celebrate his life. Share a happy memory, a brave story.

Green beans for everyone! (except the Queen – she won't eat them!)

Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul.  Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
We honor our fellow November Five members who will always remain forever in my heart: Nova – the lone survivor, live proud and long; Spirits Max, Cherry, & Tika – who made half the journey with us and greeted Trouble at the Bridge

We miss them both…We've never had an ampuversary week without Cooper….we arrived late…and miss our shared celebration. We will think of Trouble, Cooper and their wonderful parents , appreciate the friendship, laughs and tears we have shared…and be grateful for it all.

Shanna, this post of yours helps to soften the day a little. Today would have been Coopers 10 month ampuversary, and I had really thought he would make it. When things went downhill for him they went so fast. We came so close to making it a full year, which to me was amazing, because other than Coopers amputation and a diet change he had no chemo or radiation treatment, and we were told we would be lucky to get 1-3 months with him. Cooper gave us 9 of the best months of my life. A celebration for Trouble and Cooper is in order today I think , and I want to thank Shanna for bringing it up. Paws up to Trouble and Cooper…. two of the best dogs ever! Also I dont want to leave out the shared celebration of Isabelle with Trouble and Cooper , it was with much joy that we celebrated Isabelles big 1 year on the 24th!

With great honor, we will celebrate both Trouble & Cooper's ampuversaries (I don't think Darby & Peyton get enough treats anyway).

Good call Shanna.

Let's pawty today in honor these very special Tripawds! We miss our heroes tremendously, but in the Name of Dog we go on to live life to the fullest. They wouldn't have it any other way.

Extra treats for everypawdy!

They are two dogs who are very missed here, even though we never met.  I feel like I knew them so attention and respect must be paid.

Toast to Trouble and Cooper, milk bones all around!!

And Sammy is right behind!

I think late August is when the most pawesome tripawds came to be! We will definitely have a pawty tonight. I'd do it now, but I want to wait for the Boy Wonder to get home from school. He will probably order cheeseburgers for everyone. I assume Trouble, Cooper and Isabelle are ok with cheeseburger celebrations. Do they like ketchup on their fries?

Paws up Trouble & Cooper!!!! There's a pawrty in dog heaven today and one down here too. It's also National Dog Day today – fitting that we honor two such great doggies especially on today.

Abby and I are celebrating with an extra long walk on the beach (and I took my camera and took tons of pics) and a peanut butter Frosty Paw.

All the best,

Jackie, Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. We will be pawtying well into the wee hours in celebration of this most auspicious occasion. I'll see if mom will take us for ice cream or maybe make us bison burgers!

Although we never met in person, I feel like we know these dogs. We've shared their struggles, we've laughed and cried along with them. I can only imagine how much their absence is felt by you, Shanna, Ken and your families, because WE miss them like crazy. They will always be remembered here and in our hearts!

Well, Cooper must have had a paw in with the timing of that… And I'm pretty sure he's going to make sure 'all goes well'. Can't wait to hear more and see more pics!

Wow- Coop is sending you a reason to smile on what I know is a tough day.

And Shana- nice post.  It is hard to hit all those 'firsts' without your pup.

Thinking of you guys today… but I am sorry NO GREEN BEANS in my house!!

Karen, you hit the nail on the head with your post! When I read the subject line of the email about the puppy a huge smile popped onto my face , a normal unforced natural smile, one of the few that have been on my face since Cooper left, having gotten the email that pup was on the way the eve of Coopers passing and the news that the pup was born on the eve of Coops ampuversary… I wonder how much Coop may have had a part in all this, there is so much about life we dont know yet, but I believe in an afterlife for people and animals as well, and Shanna I hope the puppy news gives you a smile, because I would like to share this 26th event with you , just like we shared ampuversaries…
