It looks like it's been a hard couple of weeks on the site. Just wanted to let you know Ajax celebrated his one year ampuversary (July 19, can't believe it) and his 9th birthday (July 25, REALLY can't believe it) with a Tripawd photo shoot. Anyone who has read any of our previous posts will not be surprised that he loved it.
We were contacted by the photographers on this site, Totophoto, who are shooting NYC area tripawds for a book. So we piled our 7 legs into the car and headed out to Brooklyn, where Joanna spent 1 hour doing a super fun photo shoot. (The slippery white background paper was challenging but we overcame). We can't wait to see the pics, and gave Joanna permission to upload some here as well.
Then off to Prospect Park, a new park for Ajax and one with a "Dog Beach." It's small but great -they have actually fenced it off in the water, so that the dogs are contained and cannot swim off into the sunset or chase the ducks and swans.
There were lots of people having BBQs, so Ajax insisted we go for burgers after. All in all, a great celebration.
Sending our thoughts to all of you who are struggling and a happy hello to all who have become our friends over the last year!

Congrats on the milestone(s) Ajax. Celebrating that one year mark is really awesome, and getting a year older is a great thing for a dog, but the humans – not so much.
Can't wait to see the great pics.!

Comet - 1999 to 2011She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.

Hey all, I don't think I'm allowed to post the Totophoto shots myself but I think the photographer is going to post some. Ajax loved his photo shoot, even the slippery white background paper. Thanks for all the good wishes … we go for his 1 year xray tomorrow (really 1 year plus 1 month due to scheduling) but don't expect problems.
Ajax thanks all of you for the nudges to get him bday treats. He had a hamburger (no bun) and some ice cream.
