Next week will mark the 3-year ampuversary for Calpurnia loosing her front leg to cancer. I am looking for a wonderful and creative way to celebrate this occation – something that will mean something to my old friend, and maybe even do something wonderful for someone else.
Anyone have some good ideas? Toss 'em my way!

Maybe some carrot cake cupcakes with some vanilla ice cream followed by a super fun walk/play time to burn off some calories since us tripawd parents need to make sure they stay at a healthy weight? If you wanted to do a regular cake you could write in frosting something like Happy Ampuversary Calpurnia! Tripawd since (insert date here).
Maybe a pinata filled with dog treats? For activities, the humans could have a 3 legged race or pin the legs on a tripawd (poster size picture, 3 legs max). More ideas might come later…. Have fun with the celebration!

Even though this would be 1.5 months from now, Chloe and I would LOVE to celebrate your success story by writing Calpurnia's name on the back of our shirt for the K9 Cancer Walk we will be participating in October! I have another forum topic about this if you would like to see pictures of the front and back of the shirt I have made for the event! We are walking for dogs both 3 legged and 4 who have been diagnosed, are survivors or have passed over rainbow bridge from cancer and would be honored to "walk" for her.
Here is a link to the forum, might need to go back a page or two to see the photos. http://tripawds…..-3/#p38737

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.
Wow, now that is very impressive! Whatever you decide to do, make sure you video it and take lots of pictures. I will donate in Calpurnia's honor, so that a video keepsake can be made for you from our newly merged video experts here on Tripawds.
Skyler earned her wings and regained her right rear limb on 6/11/2010. Chloe earned her wings and joined her sister Skyler on 4/4/2011.They are now "Happy Together" with all the other Tripawd heroes and other furbabies that are running free at Rainbow Bridge.

Wowwwwee! Has it been 3 years already? Oh my gosh. It seems like just yesterday when you wrote to us wondering if amputation was the right thing to do for this incredible girl.
I think a 3-legged parade in Cali's honor is due! Everyone laugh, dance and cheer through the streets from Tinytown to Denver, all hail the Tripawd snow queen!
But if that can't be arranged, then a pawty up here in Red Feather with us is something else we would love to do. What do you think? :)
For those of you who don't know, Cali and I met on a few occasions and got to pawty together. Here's just one of our favorite videos, taken just before I earned my wings:
That's such good news, thank you for posting! My pup had his right rear leg amputated 7/19/10 due to a sarcoma, grade 1. It is good to hear of a 3 year anniversary. Congrats!

Wow, 3 years! That deserves champagne. Do they make doggie champagne? I made Boomie a whole meatloaf for his 2 year anniversary. Next year, I think champagne and hot dogs. And lots of lovin'.
Cindy and Boomie
Boomie's leg was amputated due to osteosarcoma on May 15, 2008. He enjoyed over two and a half years of life after that, one day at a time. He died on Feb. 21, 2011.

Alright Cali, I thought about it some more….I think a fine way to celebrate would be to go to an old folk's home and hang out for the afternoon. Find one that's dog friendly with some relaxed dog policies and you should be able to hop right in and impress the heck out of everypawdy.
Then, when you're done there, come here to visit us!
I think you should go on a doggie vacation! Take a day and do all sorts of doggie things. Go shopping at pet stores, go get snacks, go someplace new for new sniffs…that's what I would do!

Those are some great ideas!! I was thinking visiting with the veterans at the VFW would be good too. Definitely need to do something extra special. I'd love to take her to Mt. Elbert, but I don't think she could make that climb – its been hot and she is out of shape from the summer. Me too!
Chloe – we would be honored to have her name included for your walk! That is fantastic!
Golden Girls – thank you for contributing in her name. That is very generous.
Capt. Jack – you are welcome at our party anytime. Invisible dogs ROCK!
