Well, it has been some time since I've posted…we've been soooo busy!

Yesterday, Alexander celebrated his two month Ampuversary!!!! He is doing amazing. Sometimes it is so hard to remember the feeling of hopelessness of the first few weeks..but I know it was really rough. I still look at him and get sad, but I know that he has a quality of life now that he wouldn't have had before.

Alexander has been able to attend his good old Yappy hour events, and though he gets tired quicker, he seems to truly enjoy them. We just bring a big orthopedic bed with us now. I was so afraid that he may be weird around other dogs since his surgery, but for the most part he has been great.

He has his thrd round of chemo tomorrow so long as his blood work is okay. For his second treatment we had to delay one week due to a low neutrophil count, but he bounceed back. Physically, he is tolerating the chemo just fine. He has had no vomiting or diarreah, he just gets super thirsty in the days following a treatment. W are keeping our paws crossed that his continues for the next two treatments.

In general, Alexander is pretty much back to his old self…looking for lovin, fighting with his sister, Baylee, eating like a champ, snuggling, barking his heart out at nothing. Its so funny, those things that used to be so annoying, and are still aznnoying just don't matter much anymore….we are just happy he's doing them! He has even taken to laying comfortably on his incision side, which we were afraid he'd never do.

We are so thankful and inspired by the spirit of this big guy, even when we get sad that this had to happen to him, we know that it will all work out…….

Nice to hear Alexander is doing well!!  Ain't that the truth…happened here in this household too….Maggie's once annoying little habits are no longer really annoying…in fact, it was a joyous occasion the day that she started doing her antics like barking at the UPS man and such! cool

Here's to hoping the remainder of his chemo treatments go well!  So far so good for him!

I know what you mean….we used to get so aggravated when Zack would bark because he was hungry at 6 in the morning, but now we are so thankful that he does, especially in the first few days after his chemo treatment!)

It's nice to hear that Alexander is doing so well – keep it up!

Zack, King of Dogs, 1996 to 2010 Zack lived a full 14 years, even to the end. The joy and memories he provided us will last a lifetime. Surviving him is his sister, Izzy, a 12-year-old boxer mix quadpawd. And the latest addition, Zula, an 11-month-old pit bull mix tripawd.

YAY!  Congrats to Alexander and your family.   He is one amazing boy.

My husband and I were just talking last night of "formerly annoying things" that we are so happy our boy is doing again.

Here is to many more barks at nothing!

Elizabeth and Sammy

Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in the right front leg 8/23/10, leg fractured 8/27/10, leg amputated 8/30/10 http://sammyand.....pawds.com/   I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

Yeah, again we get to have more ice cream to celebrate the good news of Alexander! As for annoying habits, they just don't seem to matter anymore. We miss everything about Spirit Skyler – good & naughty. That is why Chloe is now so damn spoiled (well loved??)

Keep us updated, and kiss his snout for us!

Cathy/Jane/Spirit Skyler/Chloe

Skyler earned her wings and regained her right rear limb on 6/11/2010. Chloe earned her wings and joined her sister Skyler on 4/4/2011.They are now "Happy Together" with all the other Tripawd heroes and other furbabies that are running free at Rainbow Bridge.

Super duper fantastic news! Xander, we've been thinking about you, you've been so quiet. No news was definitely good news then, congratulations!

You are a true inspawration to all of the big kids out there who are facing amputation. Keep it up big guy, we are cheering you on!
