Very happy to have found this forum! In one week we will be welcoming a 14 week old Great Dane into our home. He happens to only have 3 legs. He recently underwent surgery to have his front leg removed. From what I understand....he was positioned in utero, in a way that damaged the leg. After his surgery he sustained an infection in the leg parallel to the amputated one. He is somewhat mobile but has his work cut out for him. That's where we are stepping in to bring him home and try to make him fully mobile again.

So excited and I can't wait to start reading through all the helpful information here!

Andi & Family, welcome! We're glad you joined us, and can't wait to hear more about your puppy's three-legged adventures. There have been many inspawrational great danes here and their stories just make your heart sing! Check out more in our "Size and Age Matters" Forum.

The great thing about adopting a young Tripawd is they really don't know any different, but one of your challenges will be that younger dogs tend to take a little while to get their coordination down. But it's still amazing how quickly they adapt, and you will be so impressed.

What is his name going to be? Got pix? (here's how to add photos)
