One year? Seriously!  I honestly, did not think this day would come.  On Sept 8, 2009, Boo became a tripawd.  The first 48hrs were text-book…then the bruising, bleeding, blood-clots, and embolisms began.  Another surgery on Sept 14 brought more of the same.  Then, in a last ditch effort, a final surgery was done on Sept 21. Stitches, staples, drainage tubes, comfy cones – we had it all!  We held our breath and little by little, day by day Boo began to heal…and walk….and run!

The odds were against her, and there were a lot of them!  She was almost 10yrs old, it took the above mentioned three surgeries to fix her, we decided against trying chemo… and yet, here we are!

One year.  Three legs.  More laughter and tears than anyone can count!  Boo you are an inspiration to me, and so many others!  I am grateful for the many lessons you have taught me and I treasure each day we spend together.

Tripawd community – THANK YOU for walking beside us on this often terrifying journey!  We never would have made it to this day without you!  Be encouraged friends, for today is a very good day!

Much Love,

Amanda & Boo

Boo became a Tripawd Warrior Princess on Sept 8, 2009. She crossed over the Rainbow Bridge 2.7 years later on April 29, 2012. Run free Angel Boo!

Amanda and Boo,

We are jumping for joy at this great news. While every day with our spcial warriors is a day to celebrate, reaching a milestone as great as one year ampuversary is definately reason to PAWRTY. Spirit Cherry has her check list to make sure the PAWRTY is up to the standards – Extra Hugs, Extra Playtime, Special Treats, and ICE CREAM.

Spirit Cherry tells me that if you need some suggestions there is always Nova's One Year Ampuversary Pawrty,  Cherry's Three Day Pawrty, and our great friend Ginny also did a great job with a One Year Ampuversary Celebration for Paris. We look forward to some photos and details of the grand celebration.

To many many many more Ampuversaries,

Spirit Cherry's Dad

Thank you so much for that update.  So many times the one we see are the picture perfect ones, no problems, everything working just wonderful.

I think the truly inspiring ampuversaries are the ones who had hurdles, that persevered, that had a great outcome regardless of the circumstance.

Happy one year to both of you!  You've truly come a long way

Hi Amanda and Boo,

What an exciting time for you! 1 year is just great isn't it? Especially after the tough start Boo had, like you needed that kind of stress after getting the cancer diagnosis and dealing with the amputation.

Boo is such a fighter and I am so glad she's doing well now. She is a cutie too!

Rocky and I are about 1 1/2 hrs away from GR. If you're ever interested in getting our pups together for a play date just let me know. laugh

Wishing Boo many, many more ampuversaries

Michelle and Rocky

BOO & Amanda –

WTG & woohooo!! A year is a huge accomplishment. Good for you sticking thru those initial hurdles. The beginning is so hard as it is. It goes to show you that 10 isn't old for an amputation. My dog was 10 as well & I've seen them older do really well with an amp too. :)

Here's to many more anniversaries in your future!!!
