What a spring in his step, and so early in the AM too!

Be sure to share those photos with us, we can't wait 🙂

It was a slow day... but tonight noticed Sebastian had a mild wheezing noise. He didn't do anything strenuous, so it was a bit unsettling to hear that noise.

I'm hopeful it was a result of allergies. I don't want to see him suffer. He's still eating and as you saw yesterday, he still has that spark in his eye and still has that smile. But I'm getting a little nervous.

Hope tomorrow is better.

From the looks of thst GORGEOUS picture, it certainly looks like Sebastian was in a field of a variety of wet  grasses that could certainly cause some wheezing, sneezing and runny eyes and nose!

Whatever the "cause", all that matters is  Sebastian is doing very well and certainly continues to thoroughly enjoy his life...even at 4:00 a.m.!

I can't wait to see more pictures!  The one you posted  has the most perfect  golden glowing  lighting surrounding these two.  Getting them to sit that still right next to each other seems like it would have been a challenge.  Were a lot of treats involved?

We are hopeful that is what it was Sally. The good news is that he usually sleeps on the couch all night and he did again last night, so I believe he is still comfortable - I checked the arlo camera to see how much he moved around and the camera didn't catch a movement for 4-5 hours.

It seemed the wheezing was a little less pronounced at bedtime, but it was still there. Only very sporadic coughing here and there, so the cough tabs are working well - we've increased the dosage from 1 every 24 hours to 1 every 12 hours.

This morning, I took him for a quick walk around the block - he didn't try to sprint, but more of a fast walk. He then ate his breakfast, but as with the last two meals, I noticed he left one or two morsels in his bowl. In the past, bowls would be licked clean.

I'm sure he's entering the stage where he begins to slow down... I just hope it's a slow progression.

HA!  Wish I could sleep four or five hours straight without moving arpund!  Nope, a whole lot of tossing and turning instead.

We're all friends here, right?   So I know you won't mind if I have a little chuckle over the "one or two morself left in his vowl".  NOPE, NOT A "SIGN"! 🙂   Not eating at all for several days straight may be a "sign"!   I can guarantee you that through all the meals Sebastian has eaten, he has left a morsel or two  over the years and you never paid any attention to it!

The fact that Sebastian took a "quick walk" means he probably wanted to take it slower so he could enjoy catching all the scents and stop and sniff arpund some more.  But he knows you need to make it a quick trip because you jave to head off for work.  ADDITIONALLY, it's actually  BRILLIANT if Sebastian mo itors himself and slows his pace when he needs too.

Continue to focus on what Sebastian IS doing with joy and comfort!  If he needs to take slower walks, let him.  He knows how to still enjoy himself while adapting to any health challenges that have popped up.  He's quite an amazing pup!   Dogs do such a spectacular job of adapting and accepting.way-cool Sebastian is such a great teacber!!

I love you Sally! As I read, I was thinking just what has come out of your mouth, ditto ditto ditto! He looks phenomenal! It's the middle of the winter, even rabbits are slow right now lol. I think I'm part bear.... Makes no nevermind how much I sleep, I'm tired!! I would add as gently and lovingly as I can (a hug would be involved if it were in person) please try not to read into things too much. You are going to worry yourself to death. You're a wonderful and very observant pawrent. You still have time, try to take deep breaths and enjoy this time. Even if things are changing a little you still have a happy spunky boy to love right now!

Big hugs,

Jackie and Huck

Thanks Sally and Jackie - I'm so thankful that I found this forum. The wisdom and insight that you guys bring is so appreciated. I freak out/vent here because I need to try and be the calm, matter of fact type person in the moment (someone has to besides Sebastian, right?) - and while I am generally able to do that in the moment, this forum provides me the opportunity to vent/bounce thoughts/ideas so I can clear my slate (mind)... so I can be ready for the next moment, bad... or good! And you two are right, I believe there are more good moments yet to come.

Here are a couple quick highlights from today (courtesy the cams)

Yep, I'm with Jackie, we just fot another dose of adorableness!   Two of THE cutest dawgs!!

I love that Sebastian decided to take a nap right by the exercise equipment!!  A subtle (or not so subtle) visual of how we all feel about exercise!

You can vent here all you want!  We understand!  We all do!!   And we generally feel better and stronger as a result!  And thank you for doing that because it gives us an opportunity to help you focus on what "we" see.  And, as you know, many of us have had similar "diagnosis" with our own pups.  So (unfortunately) we do have experience and we do know what it looks like when a dog is  "going downhill in a manner that may start to compromise their quality.  NOTHING we are seeing or reading indicates he is not happy or not enjoying life.  NOTHING! 🙂

Sebastian has a lot of good moments to come!!!  You betcha'! 🙂

Oh yeah, after my post last night, I stayed up and did some research and ordered Sebastian some Pet Wellbeing Lung Gold - I ordered it overnight so I'm hopeful it will be there when I get home. I'll let you guys know if I notice a difference.

(I could probably watch the Arlo cams and know if it was delivered by watching the dogs, lol).
