Hi all!,

MY wife and I just inherited our 3 legged pooch Jack about 2 months ago. He's a Brindle Ptbull/Shepherd. He has the greatest personality one could ever want in a dog. Before him, my wife was terrified of dogs, but now she doesn't know how she lived without him.(she's still fearfull of dogs she doesn't knowwhatever)

Anyway, I found this site and thought it would be good to look at and have support from time to time.

Jack is about 5 years old and has been a tripawd since he was a pup. He was napping under a car, and well you can guess the rest. He is very well adjusted, and does pretty much anything any other dog can do, which I can imagine is aworry for anyone who has to deal with recent amputation.

Jack is approx. 55 pounds and he has some artheritis in his shoulder, which gets sore when hes really active. Other than that, we forget hes even missing his other leg.

Thanks for this great site, Keep up the good work!

Tim

Thanks Tim and Jack! It's great to have you here. We especially love to hear how long-term Tripawds are doing, their stories really bring comfort to those who are just going through the process.

Is Jack a front leg amputee? I just wanted to mention that if Jack is sore from his shoulder, that's a long-term effect of being a Tripawd. They tend to put extra stress on their spine, and front leggers especially feel it in front. That's nothing that can't be worked out though. Check out this video about exercise and stretching from California Animal Rehabilitation, and consider doing some light at-home rehab too, it'll make a big difference.

We can't wait to follow along with your adventures!

Yes JAck is missing his front left.

Hes does very well.

We just have to limit ballplay when the kids come over.

We also got raised bowls to take strain off his shoulder.

Oher than that, we forget that he's any different…if he has limitations, you'd never know it superstar

AHA!! Thanks, i figured it out…with some help way-confused  Here's some pics of Jack…he sits, lies down, shakes(or as we say hi-fives), rols over…like i said, he's not limited at all!

Anyway, he likes to ride with me when i work, people always laugh when they see him sitting up just like a person in the seat next to me like this.

Anyway, here's our pride n joy.

Cheers!
