I wanted a place to put down my memories as they come flooding back. I wanted them to be in their own place, not in my grieving place. Every day, it seems I have one or two more. I was in the shower this morning and was thinking about my husband saying we were going to give TY a nice warm bath after the staples came out. I did have them taken out before he crossed the bridge. Dignity??? I just wanted him to have no extracurriculars on his body. I was feeling sad as we did not get to give him that bath. Then the memory came back of the time my daughter and I decided to take him to the do it yourself doggie wash. He was just soooo enthusiastic about everything. Well we got him up the ramp, in the tub and hooked to the little leash thing to keep him there. We were soaking wet from trying in vain to control his shaking off water and jumping around. He decided that he was done and proceeded to jump over the side of the sink. Now the leash thing is short, so he is dangling from it about a foot off the floor. I am in panic mode trying to keep his 80 lb weight off his neck until we get him unhooked. He then runs all over the wash room soaking us even further. Then as we are trying to blowdry him, my daughter seems to think it funny to blow my hair around also. We look into the corner and there is a sign that says, you are under video surveillance while on this property. I am pretty sure that there is a you tube video somewhere of the whole fiasco. I will share the story of the bath van coming to our house another day. I will also try to get a picture of Penelope the kitten that he "rescued" from the woods. He brought her to the family that was dog sitting last summer while we were on vacation. He came out of the woods carrying (very carefully) a few day old kitten. They kept it, bottle fed it and she is now a happy, healthy cat. Oh my TY, life is just not going to be the same without you here.sad

:( Lori. I'm so sorry. Almost 6 months after losing my big guy, I still get that stabbing feeling in my heart with I think or talk about him. :( those happier memories are so cherishable, and can't be taken away. I wear a picture of my guy in a locket with a piece of his fur tucked in. Sorta gives me comfort. Everyone has their thing though. Hang in there :(

(((((hugs)))))) I know ... the memories are bittersweet... that's why I am keeping up Shelby's blog (even if no one reads it except my mom who lurks there)... it's only been a week and a few days for me and I STILL walk in this apt and look to her bed (which I haven't moved) and to the bathroom... and I do hear her here. I SWEAR I hear her breathing at night... I've never felt a pain like this in my life and some days are better than others (in that I don't spontaneously cry) but staying close to the Tripawds has really helped me.

Hang in there... Ty was and IS so loved ... that is NEVER going away.

Love to you!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Beautiful fun meories Lori!!

I think, based on what yoj said abut Ty's "bathing experiences", ne would be real plessed he didn't have to have another bath!! The fact that he "hated" it so much he was trying to "hang" himself at the doggy wash is a clue!!

And t picture that big sweet Ty gentle carrying a kitten ....sooooooo heartwarming.

Ty is clearly a special, special boy. Thank you for having a place to allow us all to share in these beautiful memories of Ty. We loo forward to many, many more, okay?

Much much love.

More treasures! my boy LOVED to go on trips. So much so he was always in the car before we were. He would lurk around as we were packing I guess afraid of being left at home. We always took him when we went camping. I had forgotten about Mr. Duck. That is Chandler his big brother riding shotgun.

These memories are just beautiful. The story about him rescuing the kitten just melted my heart, what a love bug! I can just picture him carrying that tiny kitten ever so gently trying to get it to "the humans". Compassion at its best smiley

Aww, sweet memories.  I haven't been able to do this yet, but I hope to soon.  I can visualize that bath time fiasco! Funny! (although it wasn't at the time :) )

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

This is his homecoming day from his MRSA stay. He was so ready to go home. He got in the car (well I put him in)  and he laid his head on my center console and looked at me with those bog brown eyes so full of love. Oh how I miss those eyes. I kissed him a bunch of times on his head and told him how I loved him so!

No picture this morning, just one in my mind. Ty hated hot weather. He would come inside like he was sooooo hot ( after being out for 3 minutes) and plop down on the air conditioning vent. He even did this as a little puppy. It just hit me this morning that Summer is coming and I won't look over at "his vents" he had certain favorite ones including one in my office, and see his sweet, precious presence. Oh how hard this journey is. Will someone stop the ride, I want offcrying

This is one of those roller coaster rides that we don't want to take.. you know the kind.. the kind where the bar comes down and clamps you in the seat.. and there is no getting out of it.  sometimes you go up a steep hill.. to come swooshing down on the other side... fast and hard... and then sometimes you have small rolling bumps you go over... and over.. and over... and then look, another steep hill.   The roller coaster ride of emotions....   and that is okay.... because eventually... we smile and say... that was a great ride as those rolling bumps and hills remind us of our love that we had for our babies romping in the fields... pain free.... whole...  and loved.
