I have had a rough time, but expect it to improve soon!

Here is my story. In my other life, somehow a string got tied around my left rear leg. No one seemed to notice it, but when they did and found out how expensive it was to fix the leg……..well they dropped me off at an animal shelter. I was in pretty bad shape. The kind people at the shelter contacted a rescue and my new life started! At first they tried to save my leg, but it hurt a lot! And was pretty damaged. They tried to amputate but when they knocked me out my vitals went wacky so they woke me up. But finally they had no choice, the leg had to go. And to just about everyone’s surprise I survived! It felt so good to get that leg off! But I had been fighting MRSA among other things and I had an appointment to get my dressing changed and….started bleeding, guess everyone else had high blood pressure, while mine was going down fast. I had two units of blood and one unit of plasma. But…I survived!

My foster mom and my adopted mom were very scared, others were too. I think I might have seen some grey hairs in the Doctor and his staff at my last bandage change.

I get my wound closed this week, Wednesday or Thursday. And I wasn’t going to mention it, because I am hoping it won’t happen, maybe have my ulcerated eye removed. But… I can walk with 3 legs, so I am sure I can see with one eye!

And you know what? I SURVIVED!

Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Oh Lily, your life is going to get so much better from here on out. You have a Mom that is going to take real good care of you. MRSA , that is some stuff to beat and you did it!!! Is it gone? TY had to be on 3 weeks of injectable Amicacin to get rid of it. Nasty stuff, but you showed it who is boss. Please keep us posted on how Lily is doing. She sure is a miracle. Lori, Ty & the gang

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

Ohhhh sweet Lily. I'm so sorry you had to experience such horrible humans, I promise we're not all like that.

You WILL get better now that you're in good care. What an awesome little doggie you are, you have a VERY BIG spirit and a willingness to bounce back, I can tell.

Thank you so much for joining us. We don't get a lot of Tripawd Doxies here so the more you can share about your experience, the more you can help others, especially Doxies, who look for help if faced with losing a limb.

Hugs and more hugs to you and your peeps, we look forward to following your adventures.

Lily indeed is a true INSPIRATION!!  She is just adorable and I'm so happy she's a survivor...this world would be a little dimmer without the bright light of Lily shining.

I look forward to following her story and the journey that she is starting with her loving family.
